It's caused by the brake interlock. Have to figure out how to bypass it.

Interesting. Did the company come back with you on the brake interlock issue, or you managed to deduce from trial and error?

There is only one method, aside from playing around with the wire: access the hardware configuration console and play around. There is an option for disabling in motion notification. I completely forgot where since I didn't take photos of the old firmware layout:

Go to Settings -> Software Version
Click on the cogwheel/gear icon in the upper right corner
Enter the access code 1260 and enter key

Plenty of things to go through there. Just be aware that every time you use this configuration menu, make changes, and SAVE, the system will reboot, and default everything back on the homescreens.

I was looking for the the brown wire to connect to a ground but my supposed brown wire was orange...lol
Counted out the pins on the connector and figured it out.

SMH Talking about someone was falling asleep as the person was shoving connector ends into the adapter.

You bought the octo core or the quad core unit?
I'm undecided on what I'll do with my other unit. May sell it, who knows...lol

Unfortunately, octo core was not available when I purchased it. I would have gone with that unit over the quad. Overall, I'm satisfied. It has enough processing power to take care of all our needs on the long trip, and still have plenty of resources left on idle. Wish it has more RAM to partition for overhead apps processes and custom ROMs installation.

When everything smooths out, get SuperUser access to the unit. Full control over the unit will push your unit into the next level.

Holy crap, how in the hell did you get yours seated properly?
I extended the main wire harness and everything, got so very close but it just wouldn't lock in place!
I also didn't realize that there wasn't a rear channel and that you had to split the front to get the rear going.
Once you've got all of that and the backup camera wiring it seems impossible to get it all stuffed in there.
Also, which launcher have you gone with on yours? The stock launcher is horrible in my opinion.
Thanks

Take your time. Slow down and think forward, or rather, sideways. I had to chop a few plastic retaining guides to allow the wire bundles and hardnesses to overspill sideways, and backwards. What prevented the unit from completely flushes are the elbow connectors for the GPS and radio antennae for the built-in SIM function. Carefully push the wire bundles neatly to the sides, and line up the head unit, and you'll get it flushed in. I also use the 3M double sided adhesive to dampened the rubbing action during poorly paved roadways travelling. Very nicely flushed and sealed into place.

Hey Don what is the exact name of your unit and where did you order it from? Having new system put in my Treg next month and need a new head unit, don't want to pick the wrong one. Also will it work with the stock backup camera? or Do I need to order a new one? I look forward to your response! Thank you - David

Too many pages to dig through.

Has anyone got one of these to work with the factory back up camera? and if so how did you connect it?

I have the radio working just fine but am unsure how to get the signal from my factory back up camera.

The backup camera is RCA type wire. Since the factory backup camera has two (video & ground) or three (video, spliced power, and ground), it can be converted from the harness to RCA-type connector to connect to the head unit. I've done this with my 2004 (upgraded with wired backup cam), 2009, and 2012. It'll take a steady hand, and a good mini soldering iron.

The factory backup camera is RGB video signal. The aftermarket head unit accepts CVBS video signal. So you need a RGB-CVBS signal adapter. And this adapter should also has the same connectors as factory backup camera.
But unfortunately there is no such a product in the market.
Or you can install a new license plate lamp style backup camera with night vision. A 2017 model camera is more clear than a 2004 year camera.

Definitely vouch for Allen on the rear camera on this one. 2004 to 2009 cameras are crap. Using built-in cameras for newer T'reg are much clearer and cleaner. I've been looking for the better ones to modify and shove into the 2004 to 20010 that don't have the cameras.

ahh, sounds like best option then to just replace/upgrade the camera. I think my current camera is built into my auto lift gate button So that one will likely have to stay but would work if I ever put the stock unit back in. Not really looking forward to running the wiring for a new camera though haha

Can't post the link for some reason and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.
