Hi Night Drivers.

Anyone fitted a LED light bar to a roof bar/rack?

Any clean way to get wiring inside from the roof?

Otherwise I guess go with the mini bar under the number plate?

My local wildlife think my lights are someone riding a bike with a couple of torches! We have plenty of Wombats here and you don't want to hit the midnight bulldozers!

Hi Ralph

Some have routed the uhf antenna cable thru the rails successfully so you can do it.
Do you own a t2?

Roof, not bumper! They're too damned expensive to risk breaking!!

And the light spread will be so much better too.

Get onto Alibaba and buy off there, esp if you can line up a few other owners. Way cheaper and same as sold here. My son just fitted a 36" bar to the top of his Zook tonight. He's already fitted a 24" on the roo bar and 2 x 8" HID's and turns night into day. LED bars are useless in rain and fog....just bear that in mind. Work well with a good set of xenophot spotties for range. Also, you need to secure them as in anti-theft..they'll get nicked!! I'm fitting 2x 4' bars to my boat...safety. Useful for the road is the smaller rear bar as a utility light.

Not sure of current auxiliary lighting regs but in NSW 'in the old days' it was illegal to have auxiliary lights fitted higher than the standard headlights and if that is still the case it obviously isn't being policed really well as every 3rd 4be seems to have them on the roof, roll bar or bull bar. Just useless info I guess. John

More an@l than that is you have to fit 2!!! The same reg's apply as spotties - fitted in pairs. Qld and you get away with it. The roo bar mount seems more effective as the light bar is more a spread, not a pencil type beam, so mounted higher throws a lot of the light high. If I was to do it, I'd get a Treg nudge bar and mount the LED on the bar.

Example of well mounted light bars (cree) on my son's Zook. Hard to do on a Treg, but innovation might win through.
