I'm considering buying VW's Cargo Partition which requires the addition of their Cargo Partition Space Divider in order to cart my daughter's two Huskies up to Colo for their winter holiday in the snow. Before I drop $800 does anyone have a photo of the full install (VW OEM)? How many holes do I have to drill in my pristine interior? Apologies for being so anal about my silver rocket!

My parts guy said he found it in the Porsche Canada book. He can order it and get it to me for roughly $250. Is there enough interest in a group buy? I ordered one from a guy off of craigslist too. I hope it wasn't the same guy Nick bought from... If so, I'll need a kneecap buster in Denver.

I got mine from a fellow in detroit...it fits perfectly (latches onto the two metal "clips" that are on the back of the rear seats). Also integrates perfectly with the cargo cover.

If anyone has a large dog that they want to ensure stays in the back, this is THE solution. I'll post some pics later.

I agree. its nice that you still have the cargo cover too.

Here are some photos...you mount the partiton by mating the sliver clips on the partition to the the black clips on the seatback. The partition rolls up and clips into the overhead slots..independant of cargo cover. The cargo cover fits in its usual spot, and as you can see does not interfere with the opening or closing of the cargo cover. You do not need the cargo cover in place to have the partition function.

FWIW, mine ended up being $100 on ebay. The one I bought off a guy on craigslist (seller would not accept paypal... should have known) ended up being a deadbeat and didn't send me the net. Then he dropped off the face of the earth. Be careful on Craigslist if you're buying something sight unseen.

Sorry for the grave dig on this thread but am in a similar position;

Just got an '08 V8 and need a divider to keep my pooch in the rear without him slobbering all down the back seats. This one looks the best but think it is for 2004-2007 model.

VW Touareg Cargo Partition : Touareg Accessories & Parts : TregCentral

Want something that is all metal and would be nice if I didnt have to drill into the interior. Maybe something that mounts into the slots for the cargo cover? Would be willing to go to a metal frame with net if it means I dont have to permanently alter the interior.

Saw the pull up net one posted earlier but I dont have to headliner hooks like in the 2007.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

did you ever find out if this fits on the T2?? I just bought an 09 and I am waiting on delivery, but I would really like to know for sure if this fits before I order one.

its really too bad the rollup cargo net from porsche wont fit on the newer T2. that one would be perfect!!

The Treg Central link shows VW's 7L0 017 221 partition and the 7L0 017 222 divider which you don't need unless you want to separate your dogs. I bought the partition...fine German quality, coated steel mesh, fits perfectly, no drilling (just two hooks onto the existing anchors for the seat backs), no interference with cargo cover. I do cover the seat backs to reduce the amount of Husky hair build up! Thought I would hate it but have never removed it. Don't know why it wouldn't fit the '08.

Yo! How about training your Sibes? I take 4 or 5 of my Sibes at a time in my D (sorry, CFO does not allow 4 legged passengers....yet) sans divider. The fact that 2 of them want to drive and the others insist on either howling or telling me where to turn... buy a VAG-COM with the savings

Thanks to nickm's post of Aug 08 and Callihan's post of Jul 08, and their excellent pictures, I was able to purchase Porsche part No. 955-551-691-03-3W4 ($266.54), which is the nylon rollup cargo cargo partition offered standard worldwide by VW and not at all in the U.S. and Canada. My partition was made in Hungary in June 2006 and has a sticker with both the VW part number (starting with 7L...) and the Porsche part number.

For those of you with the 2006 NAR manual, this VW part and its use is described on booklet 3.1, pages 87-88. Anyone with the 2005 NAR manual will find it on pages 90-92.

It is a heavy item and is supposed to lock up upon braking, just like a seat belt, so as to not yield and open anymore than it already is. This is important, as the net opens twice as much when the seats are laid flat as when the seats stand up.

Of course the most important use of this is when the seats are laid flat... but here VW of A performed a great dis-service to North American customers, because they gave us large doorlights and switches above each rear door, instead of what I speculate must be mixed half light/half retainer hole sockets that should be present elsewhere in Touaregs.

I wonder if anyone outside NAR could post pics and hopefully part numbers for the forward retainer hole sockets?

Hair build up on a Sibe???? How many you got? With the seats folded I get four in easy and five in a pinch to get their annual check up. I use the hand holds to latch a carabiener (load rated) on each side and then have short leashes that then go to their collars. This does NOT prevent Feather from driving or the others from telling me where to turn - especially when there's a moose sighted.

Hair?? We don't have hair we wear goggles and masks in spring when they blow their coats to avoid blindness. The easiest way to clean the car is find a good road, open all windows and step on the gas - occasionally look in the rear view mirror to see a cloud of white. That's hair
