Hey guys,

I was curious if anyone knew if you can roll down the windows on the treg (05) via Vag mod. I know that on the Audi A4 it is possible to roll down the windows of the car when you press+hold the unlock button on the key remote.

I will be taking my teg to my buddies place (A4 owner + VAG owner) and have not been able to find any info on this regarding if it is possible and if so what VAG adjustments are needed.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Simply stated: Not possible on the Touareg. It's been tried. :(

Another reason to disable the damn immobilizer so that you can have that functionality in your remote start (Viper or other) package.

You DO know you can do this by inserting the key in the door lock and holding it in the lock/unlock position, right...:?:

I know it's not the same as with the remote, but at least it's something...

Yes AndrieK and if my wife's arms were just 130 feet longer than they are she could reach from the supermarket to the car, turn the key, lower the window and remotely start the car thereby obviating the need to go out by -53 to start the *&^%%^&&*** vehicle so it can be reasonably warm by the time she crawls through the snow drift to drive it. Wonderful example of overengineered stupidity

siberian (who gratefully has a Durango with remote start in the winter and if that fails a team of Siberian Huskies who don't need remotes)

Yes, but then your poor wife's 130ft long arms would fall off from frostbite and the car would still be cold inside because the windows are still open... :D

What'd you expect... It's German... ;)

I think you should pack the dogs and move back to Hawaii. I hear it's lovely there in winter...

...or Lesotho... It snows, but it aint cold... for you anyway... :D

Love that my Jetta can do this, sucks that my Touareg can't...excellent in the middle of summer, you open up all the windows from inside and let the heat buildup out.

That's too bad.... I was looking forward to that option. Thanks guys for the feedback. It is good to know that the door lock has the function to do this though (even if the purpose is mostly defeated). The top of my list is now turning off the seatbelt indicator WHEN I AM IN PARK! That HAS to be the silliest thing next to the break depress light that shows up to tell me I need to hit the break before taking it out of park. Anyone who doesn't know this shouldn't be on the road. ;)

It is and the reason I left Hawaii because of the expense of shipping snow for my dogs...

So nah don't think I'll move back to Hawaii (though we still have our house there), I'll just continue plugging away at dismantling the immobilizer system when the wife isn't looking. Just so many things to do so little time...

Everything that is man made can be unmade. Look at the iPhone some 17 year old cracked the "impenetrable" lock out. It's just maddening and there's no reason for it.

Funny it worked on my old GTI Golf
The convenience modules in the Golf/Jetta/GTI/Passat are all able to do this, the convenience module in the 04-10 touareg doesn't have this capability...it can't be programmed in either.
