So just confirming, I can put the t91 module in and wire to pin 1 of the heater, and I should be fine? I got my t91 kit, but it didn't come with the pin for the connector at the heater... any idea where I can find that?

Are you saying it did not come with the 3-wire harness?

I just replaced my batteries b/c vagging my heat on was failing due to 11.5v on the battery, so if nothing else it was a good way to find out my batteries were weak
You can buy the pins for the VW connectors from the dealer. If your parts guy has a clue (big assumption), he should be able to get it for you.

Did you order the T91 kit from Webasto, or the T91 kit from VW Germany (also Webasto brand)?

How do you turn the heat on with VAG?

Ok, I hate going to the stealer for that sort of thing, but I might tommorow.

I ordered it from an online dealer, cant remember the name right now, some place in poland. It's VW branded on the remote

Connect up, open up the aux heat , open up control channel 001 and turn it on using the on/off/auto toggle, this will cause the heater to fire up and go thru a test cycle

hummm i can't seem to find a T92 model, could it be the T100?

still trying to see if any 08 owners have been able to install a Telestart.
I meant to say T100. I apologize.

Thanks. I am very curious whether your T91 will work. I am about to order the one from VW Germany (more $$$) because nobody has confirmed whether the non-dealer one works.
The safest thing to do is give them your VIN and have them determine the T91 based on that. I remember reading somewhere that not all T91s were made equal but please don't quote me on that. I am pretty sure the VW part number on the T91 in the DIY works on '04 - '07 T1 V10s. I will strongly recommend against buying a T91 for the '08 V10s before verifying it will work. '08 and newer TDIs speak CANBUS 2.0.

V10TDI - does the kit from VW include any parts other than what is shown in the link?
Thanks for your help.
Please, see my DIY .pdf file. I have pictures there of what exactly came in the kit.

I now finally have my parking heater fully working with the timer and the T91 remote. Problem turned out to be a defective V55 water pump. I will spend some time over the weekend to update the DIY.

Great news!

This will be just in time for me to install this in our 2004. Thanks for your persistence.

yes I ordered the carsystems.pl one, it came with a different wring harness. The brown wire is the yellow wire that goes to pin 1 on the heater. the power wires are blk+red. I'm getting it installed momentarily, and I'll let you know how I make out. Have to take to our shop to remove the wheel to get to the heater

I got the real deal VW/Audi Webasto T91 kit off a seller on ebay. It arrived today in the vw packaging with all the pieces including the battery for the remote. $220 plus shipping from the Czech Republic. It included the installation instructions (in German) so once I figure out how to translate them into english, I'll post them with my version of the DIY.

I also grabbed the instruction manual for the remote. I had no idea you could use the remote to make the thing turn on and run for 120 minutes!

If I can find all the instructions in my E-Bahn for the different disassembly aspects I might dive in and do the installation tomorrow.

V10., now that you have done the install, any estimates on how long should it take assuming no issues with disassembly?

You think you may install it before Thanksgiving? It's getting cold up here in CT and I need to pull the trigger. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Update on T91 functionality:

After my post on a successful first trial here in the cold I was frustrated to realize the T91 fob would not actuate a complete cycle unless I had opened the driver's door first. (What good would that be?) The Webasto would indeed start up and then shut down at 30" when the fuel pump failed to activate.

Then it occurred to me that perhaps unlocking first via the key-fob might serve the same function as opening and closing the door. Tried it this am and,,,, Bingo! In addition the Kessy locks right back up after a few seconds without interfering in the Webasto operation.

One other conclusion after studying all the posts. One may successfully install either the T91, the overhead timer, or both. As indicated by V10, this info is good for the T1.

lgibson,

This seems to be true only if you have the electronics for additional heater (part# 7L6 815 071).If you have the electronics for stationary heater (part# 7L6 819 008) it will work without having to unlock the door first.
