I had heard about a Chinese SUV doing poorly in European crash tests and noticed the Touareg had been used as comparison. The Treg cabin looks untouched. This thing is a tank - a well engineered tank. The Ford F-150 didn't fare very well.

The thing is, the Landwind is actually the old Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport. It is still being built as a chinese vehicle. As I understand it, some chinese manufacturers buy the tooling from other manufacturers when they are end-of-lifing a vehicle design.

That is just one of many vids I've seen about that one. If I remember what I read a while back, the dealers in Germany that were going to sell that car have backed down since it performed so terribly in the crash testing.

The Touareg is about as safe a vehicle as I've seen in some of these crash test vidoes. Definately designed and built to a higher level than many others!

oh, probably cause they cost $7k and there are stil idiots out there that still tink "it's a great value". i would pay them $7k to ship this POS back and let them enjoy it.

Agree with you though, there will be droves of "wow, what a deal" people...

Wonder if the paint will be lead based? (ok, that's a cheap shot...but....)

Hmm, now there's the difference between understanding what you're engineering vs. taking some tooling and molds and making something "look" like the real thing. The China copy syndrome is ok for a knock off hugo boss suit, or a DVD player, or anything that can't kill me..but this crash scene makes me wanna puke
