You dirty Touareg owner, you. Yep, they can get dirty and they still come up shiny. More to follow?

VW don't sell 4WD's...............................do they? They'll have to figure that one out. A 4xmotion Treg and 4xmotion Amarok doing a decent bush bash (sponsored by VGA of course) would be worthwhile to showcase the 4WD thing. Until then, we do our own with pics to prove.

see your point slurper.......the Simpson Desert Crossing pics & article will be published with the launch of the new Touareg soon.
I'm glad that VW are still giving the likes of us the 4XMotion with diff locks and some offroad niceties....for what most of even the adventurous Treggers would want the 2011 Aussie Touareg should not fail to impress.

Bit like the Hay plains, endless straight ribbon usually with a heat haze so it looks like you're about to drive into water, John

Hi Mate,

Itchy feet, keen to take time off and go for a trip. I am thinking about a trip to Arkaroola in August.

Couldn’t resist posting a picture.

Just doing a bit of research, I have developed an oil leak on the driver’s side after smelling oil burning while sitting at traffic lights today. This became evident with the dash plate now in place. The previous plastics absorbed the oil via the additional sound padding.

I am at 122000km and the V10 had never lost a single drop of oil, in fact to-date I have never had to put a single drop of engine oil in as a top-up. however it’s slowly dripping out, it looks like the engine will need to come out to fully inspect the route cause.

That’s life.

Regards

Gerald

Hi Gerald
As I am about to retire (end June) I was looking at heading to the Gawler Ranges in August and then maybe to the northern Flinders. However if you want company to Arkaroola , and a bed on the way in Adelaide, get in touch and maybe we can arrange things. I can go to the Gawler ranges later on - I now have plenty of time to do such things :D
If there is other interest perhaps a convoy could be arranged???
Cheers
Peter

A trip out west eh....you've got me thinking :)

let us know what you find re your leak....same here havent had to add a single drop getting to 113000kms......
i assume you have checked around the oil filter, turbo & the top hat of the engine....

It appears to be low down near the Turbo. Could be anything. I will give the engine bay a wash this weekend and try to get a camera down there.

Will keep you posted.

Regards

Gerald

Fortunately, the price of oil fell today, so the leak will be cheaper than when it started :). No, we don't like oil leaks, so lets hope it's a quick fix.
