hi all
should i be able to receive text messages on a rns 850 infotainment system and should there be a fire extinguisher under passenger seat as per instruction manual thank you

The manual contains info about lots of things the car won't always have including the fire extinguisher.

As for the messages, if you haven't already done so, ask on the UK site www.mytreg.com
