I will preface this by saying that this decision to get these wheels took me a while to do, and there was a lot of researching involved before making my decision. I ended up "giving in" and going with something that wasn't my first choice but was a better decision in terms of money spent overall.
I did a lot of research on which type of wheels or rims I liked to put on my T3 2014 Touareg Execline R-Line. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get but I did want to get a black wheel but didn't want it to be all black because there is quite a bit of chrome on the Touareg that couldn't be left alone (IMO).
I also wasn't sure that I wanted to get a Cayenne replica wheel either because I wanted to be different. I ended up going with this replica wheel anyway. There wasn't a whole lot of choice in wheels with a 5x130bolt pattern from the shop I was working with and even when looking online all the wheels I liked didn't come in that option.
I also wanted to be a 21" as I think the 22" are much too large and create a much harsher ride. Unfortunately 21" wheels are hard to get, expensive, and tires are also quite a bit more expensive than even 22" tires are sold for.
So in the end I went with the cheaper alternative and used the all season tires that came with the Touareg from factory with these new 20" wheels. I kept my factory 20" wheels with my Snow tires which I had installed at the beginning of this winter.
I was quite nervous before seeing it for the first time as I'm a bit picky and wasn't sure how it was going to turn out not having gone for what I really wanted to get. I definitely didn't want the wheels to look small or boring.
Check out the pics and let me know what you think? I'm still adjusting to the new look right now. Overall I'm glad I didn't spend money on another new set of tires and that this setup so far to me looks pretty good.
In the near future, I might add 7mm spacers in the back to bring the back wheels out a touch more.
