I will preface this by saying that this decision to get these wheels took me a while to do, and there was a lot of researching involved before making my decision. I ended up "giving in" and going with something that wasn't my first choice but was a better decision in terms of money spent overall.

I did a lot of research on which type of wheels or rims I liked to put on my T3 2014 Touareg Execline R-Line. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get but I did want to get a black wheel but didn't want it to be all black because there is quite a bit of chrome on the Touareg that couldn't be left alone (IMO).
I also wasn't sure that I wanted to get a Cayenne replica wheel either because I wanted to be different. I ended up going with this replica wheel anyway. There wasn't a whole lot of choice in wheels with a 5x130bolt pattern from the shop I was working with and even when looking online all the wheels I liked didn't come in that option.
I also wanted to be a 21" as I think the 22" are much too large and create a much harsher ride. Unfortunately 21" wheels are hard to get, expensive, and tires are also quite a bit more expensive than even 22" tires are sold for.

So in the end I went with the cheaper alternative and used the all season tires that came with the Touareg from factory with these new 20" wheels. I kept my factory 20" wheels with my Snow tires which I had installed at the beginning of this winter.
I was quite nervous before seeing it for the first time as I'm a bit picky and wasn't sure how it was going to turn out not having gone for what I really wanted to get. I definitely didn't want the wheels to look small or boring.

Check out the pics and let me know what you think? I'm still adjusting to the new look right now. Overall I'm glad I didn't spend money on another new set of tires and that this setup so far to me looks pretty good.

In the near future, I might add 7mm spacers in the back to bring the back wheels out a touch more.

If you don't mind asking, what kind of Reps are they and how much were they?

I was going to wait until this weekend after a wash, but this seems like a good post to add on to. My 19" tires needed replacing and since I plan to keep this vehicle long term(unusual for me) I decided to switch to 20" for summer use for a wider/less expensive tire selection. I also struggled with what wheels to get. I really like the Pikes Peak, but I was unsuccessful finding a take off set. I have always been a fan of BBS mesh stye wheels (I've had them on a GTI and A6) so I went with Avant Garde Ruger Mesh wheels.

Those look great! I'm thinking about the same route as I put my Nokian winters on the 19" stock rims. Are those 20x8.5" width? What tire size and type did you go with?

They are 20x8.5. I went with Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus 275/45/20. I do a bit of camping in the summer and wanted a highway tire that still had a decent amount tread for sand/off roading etc. They had good reviews and the price was hard to beat. They are quiet on the road and ride nicely.

Philm- yours also look great, especially with the black! Hope I didn't thread jack your post.

No worries at all @Throttlelink. This is for everyone to share their thoughts on what they have found works best for them.

Yes I agree that for my black Touareg this matches the black and chrome look pretty good, if I had a white one or a different color, I would have gone with a different wheel for sure.

Thanks for posting pics guys. I have never been a fan of 'reps' but I found a set I liked recently. Machine finish front, gunmetal spokes. 20x10 45mm offset. With the amount of chrome of the T3 it is hard not to get a wheel with some bright finish to it.

Those Avant Garde wheels look nice. Do you mind telling us where you got them & how much? I ask as they are also on my shirt list but the prices I have seen vary quite a bit.

Reviving an old thread for some advice/info on replacement rims.

I want to replace the rims on my '11 Treg FSI. When I purchased the vehicle it had the 19" OEM Everest rims with 285/45/R19 Roadstone (Nexen) N'Fera RU's mounted on 'em. I want to replace the rims as the ones have a couple of small curb rashes on 1of 'em, and the clear coat on all of them looks like it's wearing.

I have a brand new set of the same tires that came on this vehicle (listed above) in the same size. I want to get the rims pictured and mount the tires on 'em.
My question is... the aftermarket rims are 19x8's with a 45mm offset. The OEm's are 19x8.5 with a 59mm offset. Will the aftermarket rims with the (size) tires I mentioned fit without any issues on my Treg? Any help would be appreciated.

You can use this tire sizing website to compare tire sizes and wheel offsets: https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/
When I populated your sizes it says you will be .55" closer to your fenders so clearance questions will be on the outer part of the tires and how much clearance you have at different suspension compression and front wheel turns.
No definitive answer but hope this helps some
