How many kliks is that?

Are you taking a van or a tent?

Stuart, have you been to Carnarvon Gorge before? There are two very distinct sides and you need to do a 200-300km? loop to get from one side to the other. The eastern side is the more popular and has some great walks and sights. But we recently did the western side (Mt Moffatt) which we enjoyed too. Cheers Paul.

Answers in order. (I can send Spreadsheet if further details asked for.)
About 13000km + unexpected side trips, with a van. Hard driving up and back, but main point of this trip is the north west.
Seen a lot of QLD before.

Thanks John, will do.

Spear, Was planning to do Adelaide, Yorke and Ayre peninsulas on another trip, Will contact you then if that is Ok.

Paul, have done Carnarvon Gorge East side from the Roma-Emerald rd, walked to whole gorge and that big hill on the right side. Doing it again as a 2 day rest stop. Will see if the other side it fits in time wise, thanks for the suggestion.
The other Carnarvon (WA) is from Exmouth - Carnarvon to Hamelin Station and onwards

Thanks for the interest, suggestions welcome.
Stuart.

Hi Colin.
I do agree but there are reasons why it has to be so short. :(
That is why we are scooting up north and then scooting back across the Nullarbor.
We hope to do what we miss on those ends later.

On the road

Some 250KB pics of the trip, (not in order).
Getting behind schedule already. Tore that up days ago :serious:
The Charleville pic was of three NSW TAFE Fitting and Machining teachers whose wifes names all began with J and were born in 47, 48 and 49 best that for coincidence. I am on the left, wife back at the van.
Treg is doing 14.5ltrs/100km, happy.

Hi Stuart

just saw your posts on around Oz in 90 days and the photo of the Grumman at Noccundra caught my eye.
Don't suppose you have another picture that shows the rego? it looks like VH-IFG but hard to see. Color and prop match. If it is, it used to belong to my father, and then me, sold around year 2000. if it's not IFG then it's just some other Grumman tiger.....

safe travels for the rest of your trip.

cheers
Ian

Nice. And what a way to get to the pub for a beer - flying in your own Grumman Tiger! I wonder if he gets breathalysed before take-off? :)

13.5 - 15.5 is my average consumption towing the 21' around the South West of WA. All pretty much in the same range.

Travel safely

Winton to Julia Creek

Not sure if I had to stop at that crossing.
Funny to see a tinny pull up and jump start the riverboat.
Lovely sunsets at Longreach but did not show up well on pic.
Rooster pulled chariot.
Local pet at Hughendon.

My wife is still enjoying the trip (very important) so am I.

Stuart, strongly recommend you drop into Keep River NP. On the right just before leaving the NT near Kununurra. Scenery is spectacular. Walks not long - road in was short and good.
Also Karajini NP in the Pilbara is not to be missed, especially Hancock gorge. Pity you are not doing the Gibb as there is so much more to see.
Cheers and safe travel. Dubby
