Just a bit of background info.
So currently I have the P1018 Intake Manifold Runner error on Bank 2.
So I finally ordered the parts from overseas to repair this about a week ago, everything had been running fine.
Coincidentally a day or two later, I went to start the car and it wouldn't start. I tried numerous times, but after about the 10th go, i left it and went back inside. Tried it an hour later and it started no problems. I thought it had to do with the P1018 error as nothing else came up. I only had the torque app, so I reset it anyway.
Then on the weekend, the engine decided to quit while in stop and go traffic. Embarrassing to say the least, it wouldn't start. Had to push it to the side of the road :anger:. Kept trying every minute and then about 10 minutes it starts and I drive home no problems. Still only P1018 error on the torque app. I found that the clip on the drivers side had come off. I clipped it in.
Today, after making a turn it did it again. Pulled over to the side and it wouldn't start. Lucky I had my laptop with me this time and it gave me this

I also noticed that the clip came off again. Found it moved around and fell out at idle, unclip all of it and turned it around and reclipped it. Not the best fit, but it will have to do until my parts arrive.
Has anyone come across this error on the V6TDI. Could the P1018 error cause this? I did a search for this error code and they all appear to be for petrol engines. If anyone has had this replaced, could you please describe the location of the sensor and part number?
Thanks in advance
Eric
