hi guys :)
just wondering how are you washing, cleaning and rinsing your engines,
Power wash? water from hose or just spraying on the degreaser and then wiping off with the cloth?
in case of power wash or hose what parts need to be covered from water for T1 V8
thank you

Hey Nikoloz

I was once advised to never put a high pressure jet in the engine compartment, just too risky.

Same applies to parking sensors .

well im power washing my beast nearly every day thanks to my insurance, never had any problem with parking sensors, but i also would never power wash engine, my colleagues are power washing engines of their BMW X5, they just cover up tow things and no problem, perhaps that's the only good thing about those cars :D

On my T1 V8, one time I used a degreaser and then water from a hose. No water pressure at all. Let it dry. The rear tailgate did act wonky until the engine was completely dry.

No issues other than that but I would hesitate to do it again.

Degreaser and high pressure but try to avoid any electrical connectors. I have done this on all my cars and except for needing a bit of CRC (De-watering) on the ignition, I have never had an issue in 40 years... My brother is the opposite he has never cleaned an engine other than during a removal, and he also has never had an issue.

I actually start with a stronger dilution of car wash soap in a spray bottle, unless it calls for the "nuclear" options, i.e., degreaser, stronger solvents pressure, etc.

I also find that finishing with a leaf blower makes very short work of nooks and crannies underneath the hood or the body for that matter.
