This is the only forum I have ever come across a 60 day wait period to post stuff for sale? why? How can you expect to grow as a forum if you have stupid rules like that?

check out e46fanatics.com or bimmerforums.com and you will see how a good very populated forum is run, and they make tons of money off of their sponsors...

Mod Note: Deleted. Sorry, you still don't meet the requirements for posting an ad.

The idea is that we want people contributing to the community, not using us for free advertising. Replying blank posts to increase your post count does nothing for the community.

If you need to sell your items and don't want to be part of the community then ebay.com is where to go.

There are reasons for the rules on this board, just as there are reasons for any of the rules on any of those other boards. For one, users that come on here just to sell something are not at all contributing to the community nature of these forums. They are basically salespeople looking for an outlet to make money, and are not interested in participating in and growing the knowledge pool of the community.

Also, we are, and have been, growing. This growth has nothing to do with letting people freely come on here, peddle their goods, and walk away without contributing one iota of knowledge for the greater good of the community. In fact, I'd like to think that the lack of this activity has cultivated some of the growth we've seen.

Thirdly, it helps to protect the populous of the community by ridding them of spammers and those who are trying to take advantage of them. Some fly-by-night fool can go anywhere on line, say they have an item to sell, get paid, and run away without shipping the item they likely didn't have in the first place. By us monitoring the ads placed on here, we can try to help protect members from this ulcer of society. Additionally, being a contributing member of the community gives you a chance to build rapport with the other members, making it easier for them to send you green if you do sell something.

I completely understand, but you must also realize some new people on this board are not peddlers.

I was simply allowing members of this forum, which I am now part of, to take advantage of an outstanding deal. And obviously I am not a salesperson if I'm just selling 1 single set of infinity speakers.

Anyway, I have joined the forums, and dont have many posts yet because I know how to use the "search" function rather than just asking with new redundant threads. The only thing I was able to contribute so far was actual gas mileage on my v8, which I replied to a dead thread from 2 years ago, notice I did not start a new thread?
