Er, excuse me.......you live where? Frostbite central, just one house away from Santa (Ok, I'm jealous on that one). Reindeer for neighbours:hug:, bears to play with the dogs and your closest VW dealer is how far away? No matter, you've got some nice scenery up there.....no noisy neighbours (I spelt that right btw) except the bears eating the odd sled dog. Oh, and the Salmon fishing, I get that, nice!

Nice cake BTW.

Oh man, Slurper has woken up....

Santa's House is in North Pole about 30 miles SE of me

No Reindeer here, plenty of moose though

Yep black and brown bears a plenty, and no it's the wolves that we need to be careful of with the dogs, but I figure 4 siberians can take down a wolf or two (my dogs are never tethered)

VW dealer? what's that?

Neighbors is spelled as in "neighbors"...

stay warm

Now I think of it, it's probably in your favour! Think about it.
 how much of this have you been missing out on from your local VW dealer? Wolves better than dealers me thinks!:clapclap:

Wolves are part of nature and we must live with and amongst them. As long as they don't come near the kids we're fine. A few years back we had some tracks and the dogs alerted like mad. A few shots in the air and calm returned. Must have been a young moose nearby as the way my kennel is set up it would be suicide for them to attempt to break in. And wolves are smart.

Will you guys pipe down? all this mild weather is starting to melt our igloos here in eastern ontario. I will be up most of the night patching up the damage.

We were up to 6 C today. Actually opened the windows and put on a T-shirt to go out... man in a couple of weeks or ten days we go from -60 to 40s...

Careful with the UVs Nick... BTW can you see Europe from your house?? :)

Yeah europe is just on the other side of that really big lake the kids swim in during summer...we see it fine one a clear day :)

Hey wait a minute, all that beer I have been zipping while enjoying this show got me distracted but I'm catching up and I have to say you guys have helluva distorded view if you see all the way to Europe.

You crooked eye monsters are running one heck of show here :D

I need more popcorn and beer  and it's dang! morning...

Last time I checked the map, Alaska is on the west coast so Siberian is closer to Russia than Europe...

Da comrad?

and Anchor would need to see over all the French folks in Quebec and to do that, one would need to have really weird "trajectory" to dodge them, oui?

I'm getting too involved with this, I need to back and enjoy the show and the cold beer while wondering how Anchor's wife adjusted the air suspension that low...

maybe that isn't europe we're seeing, maybe those are the empty cases of beer?...i get so confused drinking by the lake sometimes....

Man, did I ever get a kick out of these posts. Never thought we had so many comedians in the group.

Siberian, Europe, unfortunately, is too far to see. The pond kind of gets in our way.

Kleinbus, yes Quebec is in my way but I wouldn't say it is a weird trajectory, just a unique one that needs to be passed (I have to watch my words here as my wife's family comes from Quebec).

Nick, as we live relatively close to each other and since we both experience the same weather, I regret to say that my igloo fell apart last week and there is virtually no snow left to rebuild. I am bummed :(

Oilslupper.....I agree with you, it is about time that Americans learn to spell the words, favour, neighbour, labour etc....

Now if ya can't keep up with the conversation, stay on the porch :)

So Nick, what part of Europe do you see? I mean Russia is kind of hazy from where I am, but so many people ask that in the end we simplify it to say not quite to Moscow and that seems to appease the curious from the Lower 48s. Won't be long till they will be able to get into the pond!

Hot tubs are very common here for the winter. We don't have caribou (wild reindeer) here much, mostly moose, wolves and bears (in summer). Other denizens include lynxes and wolverines (though I've yet to see one).
