Air suspension air retention valve question.

I have a leak from my front left side air retention valve on my '08 Tdi, looking at replacing the whole valve if necessary or possibly only the offending part which may well be the 'O' ring on the outboard side.
Before I start I want to purchase a complete valve, I see that OEM parts listing shows different part numbers for front and rear application ( 7L0616813B (front) 7L0616814B (rear)) however some vendors show both these part numbers on their advertising which lead me to think they are interchangeable.

Does anyone kwow for a fact that they are interchangeable?

Thanks,

TonyB

Hi! I bought my RPV valves from this site. It says also that it is rear axle, but i put this on my front left strut and everything is working perfectly. And for the front right side i just replaced the small o-ring on the valve (got a few from a local o-ring shop).
I had my front suspension drop completely overnight so i took both front struts out the car and changed both the upper and lower o-rings and cleaned the surfaces from corrosion. Then i ordered a rebuild kit also for the compressor and changed it.

Great post. Thank you, KarlEstoni

I try to tell others that the air suspension is not voodoo magic. It is really a pretty simple system and if you are good mechanically, you can fix it yourself without buying all new parts from the dealer.
