Well We have given up the Allroad and replaced with a TT. This is the TDi version which is not the quick one but not bad 0 to 100 in 7.5 sec. Will have a few things to get it sorted for my wife , but a can't see me in the car that often

Nice!!! I love the TT TDI... sporty.. and you can't even touch the MPG's with a Prius! Congrats!

Bails, very nice looking car, love the colour.

Just out of interest, were you happy with your allroad? I'm particularly interested in its off-road capability, are the air-suspension reliable?. As you know, I'm fairly disillusioned with my treg experience at the moment (I'm starting at the prospect of a sometime defective car that even VW's authorised dealer, and an established one at that, can't diagnose or fix).

The allroad will go further up a ski jump than any other 4WD, so the add demonstrates. I think the allroad is a great car, mine was a 2003 model and was well made. They are very well priced in the 2nd hand market, and very popular in the USA where they get a lot of snow and ICE. Air bags are cheap to replace now, AUDI Air Suspension Parts & Kits - Arnott Industries

They did not bring the manual to Aus but that had High low range.

I believe it's basically the same air susp system on the Touareg.

Wax ? Polish ? me drive she wax and polish ?? Not really that is the finish that they delivered the car with. I usually get the car washed and polished by hand at the local car wash place. I assume the engine is the same as the Golf, I will chip if possible is supposed to add 38 PS, which is a fair increase .

good show Bails! assume its a common rail engine, can you feel the diesel engine under the bonnet?

thanks guys, Anand, I'm guessing you work in an Audi shop? what do you think of the current gen allroad, MY08-10 3.0 TDI (4F I think ).
I work for an Audi/VW/BMW/Mini/Porsche performance and repair shop, however, being in the US we don't have any of what you're asking for unfortunately :( We don't get the "new" Allroad, nor have we gotten the Allroad (or any A6) w/ the diesel engine option...

Interesting to read on that link about the Allroad having a dual speed transfer-case; another option that never made it here to the states

I'll be honest, I'd much prefer all my TDI's with a manual g'box. I had one in my 1st Caddy and would take it any time over the DSG. The 6-speed in the Crafter is great and lets me determine when to use the torque. Plus I get engine braking (think Treg brakes when I say that).

Yes, but not an 8 speed. That's too many changes IMO. 6 speed is about it. Though, I've learnt to short shift with the Crafter box around town and the lights.
