My 2016 Touareg, which I purchased new 4 months ago was running NAR 6.12.2. Yrktreg hooked me up with NAR 6.16.2 and everything loaded up perfectly. The instructions were clear, Joe was great to work with, answered my questions promptly and now I'm looking forward to getting the TCM update (back to stock) and also the ECU fix.

Only one comment, the 16 GB SD card wasn't large enough by about 4.8 GB. I know that others have suggested either a 16 GB or 32 GB will work.

Thanks Joe!
Very welcome sir!

I'm going to just recommend that people us 32gb cards from now on.

Seems like it must vary by manufacturer of the cards, as some people were able to use them.

Tanker, I see you have the gasser, whereas I have the TDI. Because of dieselgate, my 2016 had already received "the fix", which involved changing the programming of the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the Engine Control Unit (ECU). I am waiting my turn for Yrktreg to get my car back to the way it was before "the fix".
Couldn't have said it better myself

Thanks all....I was aware of the TDI band aids that VW has gone through in order to try and save themselves and should have paid attention. The TDIs seem like great cars...but I bought the first one that I came across that was a solid deal after I started looking for one -- and happened to be a gasser. Still love the car and how it has evolved since my 2004.

Your firmware is good, just need map updates.

Sorry that they hosed you.

I'll send you a PM...
Joe,
Sorry I haven't replied to your PM yet.... I snapped and went to war with the dealer over this issue, so they actually performed the update for me yesterday..... it was a matter of principle and your update was going to be my contingency plan, but I couldn't let these dirtbags get away with this nonsense after I paid this kind of coin for a vehicle.

Regardless, thanks for attempting to help me.

No problem sir, I am glad that you were able to make them keep their word...

Finally Found the Thread - I'm In!

Yes I am in! And may be close by to you (Dillsburg). Can you PM me with contact into and all the details to get this rolling - before the weather gets bad?
PS - I've got a bunch more posts before I can PM, even though I purchased supporting membership here - bummer.
Thank you

Speed limits not correct on most recent map update

I received my map update to V12 "complimentary" when I purchased my new 2016 Touareg last month. I noticed that when traveling on PA interstates (I-80 and I-99) the speed limit indication on the NAV still shows 65 even though it has been 70 for over 2 years. Anyone else notice this with other roads? Maps should not take over two years to have updated speed limits! I feel like VW is getting one over on everyone who is purchasing these updates!

Normally the maps are about a year behind. It apparently takes them that long to get it processed.

yrktreg, I just purchased a 2016 Touareg. If the maps have been updated since then (delivered 10/2015) then I would be interested in a map update. Let me know.

New to me TReg

I am in the process of buying a one owner 2017 Treg from an Audi dealer. It was a dealer use car until Jan of 2018. How can I check that my firmware/Maps are up to date before the close? It will take some time to get up to speed on the RNS-850.
