Just curious to know why my brake pedal is very hard (does not compress at all) before first start up each morning, within a second or so after start it goes back to the normal feel, subsequent starts during the day do not suffer from this anomoly .
This is the second touareg that I have/had that has developed this issue.

Anything to worry about?

P.S. I know I have exposed myself to Nooby's quirky sense of humour with this post:frown2:

Hi Tony,

Mine is exactly the same, and has always been like that. I put it down to a less than perfect vacuum chech valve on the booster.

Thanks Stuart.
Happy to know that I'm not the only one with that irregularity, I did suspect something like that may be causing it.

Both of my cars seem to have acquired that issue as they aged.

Also chasing this down on our 2006 :)

Just purchased a pair of aftermarket check valves and will be replacing them factory ones with working ones...

It's definitely a vacuum leak somewhere in the system. Could be faulty check valves, or these nice plastic hoses tend to crack where they are formed in place at the fittings.

I've inspected/ replaced all of the faulty lines so now it's check valve time...

Just bumping this up as there is no clear indication on what's causing this, it not only happen after sitting all night, sometimes it happens at odd times as well after she's been sitting for a couple of hours.

My '11 does it also. No rhyme or reason to it. Does it so infrequently that I never worried about it.
