Hey
Thanks for both map upgrade and firmware, maps update seemed to take forever but it went ok (noticed two screenshots from instructions different from my installation but a non issue).
Maps works fine so far, glad to have maps again and updated..
I highly recommend others getting it from him, quick turnaround, smooth transaction with no issues with update process.
I noticed two errors in module 5f but it doesnt bother me, it doesnt affect maps function and just shows during scan..
Cheers and thanks again,
You're very welcome sir!

Reporting a successful update of my system to the new maps, with a small hitch, which took care of itself the following morning

It took nearly 2 hours in the early evening, but it when it finally completed it wouldn't finish calculating a route during testing. I was puzzled. So I shut down for the night and went to bed.

Before heading to work, I tried again and it works fine. I guess it needed a nap? I was going to perform the hard reset of the system but didn't have to.

Well worth the $50. It shows a new short section of highway near my house that has been missing for 5 years. It always considered it "off-road" before, now it's a real road. "Turn left when possible". Ha.

I do wish there were choices for the voice. The stock woman's voice is to mechanical. That would have been a nice new feature.

Glad to hear that it worked out well sir!
Yes a couple of notes for new people, every once in a while the system hangs after the new hotness, so it needs some time or a simple 5 finger reboot.
So from now on I am suggesting that this to be done as standard operating procedure.

And also highly recommending a high speed high quality SD card to be used.

Hello all. I just took ownership of a new 'fixed' 2016 TDI in May and am learning everything I can from this site. I have a question about the map update; people mention getting errors in module 5F, i would like to understand if those errors are visible to the driver, or if they are only logged in the vehicle diagnostics. My wife daily drives the Touareg and would probably not be happy with me if she saw an error message every day...

Thanks for helping me understand.

You won’t see any errors unless you scan the computer with the vagcom tool.

For Future reference...

Seems like Mac computers are having a difficult time unzipping these files for some reason.

I may start trying to send the files already unzipped, and see if they then will at least copy correctly with a Mac.

Yes, don't unzip with a MAC. I was not able to get the files to install on my vehicle until, per yrktreg's suggestion, I found a PC to decompress the download pkg.

Installed last night and all seems to be working well.

Thank you for a smooth transaction!

Regards,
