During my trip home in April, I took some photos of a test mule I saw. Could possibly be of a new Touareg. Not sure. Either way, what should I do? DO they have any value? Or should I just post them online?

Considering you took the pictures last April... I'm going to guess photos of this mule have already been taken and distributed.

Post one on this site... I'm sure you'll get some feedback.

:-& Looks like some kind of possessed Pontiac Aztec, giving it its all, pretending to be a Touareg.

They should use that thing "as is" in a horror movie set, no joke.

Interestingly enough, that light blueish grey SUV, parked on its left side, looks like an equivalent.

Yeah, the hood and headlight config looks really close. But isn't that a Toyota badge on it?

Also, not diggin' those flat black (rubberized?) roof rails that show up in these and other recent pics. One more thing to show scratches from use...

Or are they just another part of the 'game?'

I don't think it is a Touareg, the tires are too skinny, the exhaust isn't consistent with other Touareg exhausts, and honey comb grill is more common on Toyota's or Pontiac's.

If I was a betting man (and I am not) I would say that this is a Highlander.

I figured out what this vehicle is... thanks to a question I was able to fire to an unnamed source who is reliable.

We believe this vehicle is a test mule of the new Kia Sorrento.

BAM!

BAM!

SOOOO now we cannot tell the difference between a VW and a kIA !!!!! OMG ! Maybe that Audi Q7 or Q5 is sounding a bit better! :)

The lack of a crease down the side of the vehicle was where my suspicions started.

The whole side window, A,B and C pillar area are very korean in design...it may be a kia but then again who cares.

There's nothing German looking about this at all...VW never leaks designs unless they want to, and if they do want to then it'll be right in front of your face (ie: the Concept D was a Phaeton with a hatchback, Concept CJ was a coupe version of the mk4 Jetta).

German car makers typically test new mechanicals in current body styles, so even if they did have a test mule out there, it would look exactly like the current version.

VW will also test mules with Audi and other VW product bodies. Hell, VW even told me they used a Mercedez Benz ML body when they were testing Touareg mules oh-so-many years ago.
