I am in the process of making a plate for a friend and fellow member and of course myself.
Attached is the first pass template made out of 1mm aluminium.
Plate will attach to engine cradle in the 4 spots the temporary threaded rod is hanging down. It will also attach to the transmission cross member and if it goes like I hope to also the 2 aluminium sway bar bush clamps as seen on the photo. This of course means that the plate will actually be wider at the front than in the photo and a bit of extra width at the back. I believe that with the mounts I have chosen the plate will be universal to all T1 and T2 models. Completed plate will be 6mm aluminium with a engine sump plug removable cover for easy oil changes and the vent for air flow over the front diff that seems to be missed on the other plates I have seen. I will be doing a bit of test fitting on a T2 V6 tdi to test my fit up as the one shown is fitted to a V10.
If anyone has an expression of interested for one of their own once I finish the actual final plate and post some photos please don't hesitate to start the ball rolling. Not sure on price but it will be as reasonable as I can.

Well for those who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting I don't normally do any off-road driving but seeing it is the holiday season I went with a friend down to the beach yesterday to give the V10 a run. Now I went with a friend as I do not have a lot of experience with beach driving and the thought of getting stuck makes me uncomfortable. I must say that the V10 seem to do anything I threw at it with ease. Tyres at 16psi, ESP off , still in high range. Not that I was too ambitious but still enjoyed myself.
