street, touring, commuting, dirt fun, mc, competition.

i ride an aprila touareg. jk. caponord. awesome bike. bought it (2006) new in 2009 as a crate bike in sf ca usa for $9k otd. i have just turned 76k miles today with zero problems. there are certain things that need to be addressed like some fuel connectors and electrical connections to ensure you have a flawless bike. i've addessed the flaws and have my everyday commuter. rain or shine. my t3 is equally as awesome. great distance rig. great sloppy mud rig. (if you know what you're doing) plus my dog loves it. what more can you say?

i look forward to the replies.

Nice to see another aprillia rider around, there aren't many around here. I ride a 2004 Tuono. More bike than I will ever need. I also have a Suzuki M50 I used to ride, and am planning to insure again this year, and a 550 Nighthawk that I have for a project bike, but that won't be running any time soon.

Ugh... I saw this post and it made me so happy/sad... I miss my R6 with a passion, but it helped pay down payment on my new house so I can't be too upset. I haven't turned 30 yet nor am I as cool as SOA, so I can't get a Harley :) (that's what I tell my wife and buddies) planning on possibly adding a duc 899/848 to garage in future (which is why I had to subscribe, so I don't forget to post when I do!)

I ride a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675, and a 1995 Harley Davidson Sportster both which currently sit collecting dust seeing as how I moved half way across the word from Chicago to Hawaii. Its a sad when its summer all year round but I can't enjoy riding because my bike is sitting in the garage in Chicago.

Used the Daytona 675 as a commuter and weekend bike, the sportster was converted to a bobber so strictly a weekend/ late night cruise bike.

Had a Yamaha FJ1200 for a few years, but could not resist the lure of a Gen II FJR.

I've got a 2007 Yamaha FJR 1300 (Blue with Silver stripes).

Currently showing 68k kms and not a hint of trouble.

Modifications/accessories added include:
Power Commander V/Auto tune module
Holeshot Stainless/Ceramic full exhaust (headers/Cans etc)
Brake light modulator
Oggy Knobs (tip over frame/panel protection)
R&G exhaust can protectors
Headlight protector
Custom made highway pegs (in addition to Yamaha OEM pegs)
Vista throttle lock
Grip Puppies (o'sized grip foam)
Tank protector
Handle Bar end helmet locks
Front fender extender
Sheepskin seat covers
Shad 48 litre top box (soon to be replaced with a Givi 50 litre)
Pannier liner bags
Tomtom Rider V2 GPS
Iridium spark plugs

Best riding feat.... I rode 1680kms in 19 hours (Perth to Hopetoun to Perth). Also did Melbourne to Perth (3 days @ 1150kms per day - daylight hours only).

The FJR truly is "The Mile Muncher"

Used to ride and still own a 1988 Honda Hurricane 1000F. Addictive. Liquid speed. :) Love those liter bikes.

I've ridden motorcycles since I was a kid. Didn't even get my driver license until I was in my 20s because I just rode street motorcycles (you could get away with MC permit and no car license at the time).

I have a '58 Harley panhead I ride most often. I've been to 46 lower state with it. I built it 16 years ago.

I ride a '66 BSA Lightning around a bunch too. It's my "sport" bike for hitting the local twisty roads. Built that one too.

Others I still own and ride . . .

'64 Harley panhead. All stock. I ride it frequently
'07 Buell Ulysses. My first first modern bike.
'75 Honda CB400F
'71 Harley Sportster
'49 Harley panhead - currently apart in my shop
'62 Triumph Bonneville chopper (crazy '60s psychedelic style. don't really care for the style)

Past bikes (I regret having sold all of them). . .

'77 Honda CB550 SS. My first legal road bike. Donated to New York state troopers.
'83 Honda Nighthawk 750. Sold for college expenses.
'73 Triumph Bonneville. 750 five-speed.
'69 Triumph Tiger 650
'67 Triumph Tiger 650
'66 Triumph TR6SR
'89 Harley FLH touring
'70 Yamaha R5
'85 BMW K100RS. Kept getting speeding tickets.

The salesman when I bought my first VW a number of years ago said "Oh, you ride motorcycles. You'll love driving VW. You can actually feel the road and get driver feedback." He was right.

I used to ride bikes (for 23 years in total), but stopped after totaling my Yamaha R1 2002 model at a high speed right hand corner the Spa track in Belgium some 5 years ago.

I started with a Honda VFR 750, and then a Honda VFR 800, and a Kawasaki ZX9R and a 2000 Yamaha R1 and the last one also a Yamaha R1 2002 mod.

I did track days all over Europe, but the favorite one was the Nurburgring Nordsleife. Here is one lap for several years ago (loads of good memories):

Zombie thread! I ride currently a 2010 Kawasaki Concours. Love it. But now that i have a Touareg i may get a smaller sportier bike and trailer to the best riding places. I have had a lot of different bikes over the years. Loved my ZX11s and my Hurricane 1000 the most. The Connie is for me the perfect "only" bike. Daily commutes with stuff, weekend rides, longer trips. But i long for a lighter ride one i get up to the mountains in Arkansas for example.

Depends... '99 Kawi ZRX is my daily. '98 Ducati ST2 for longer trips. '93 Honda VFR400 for the twisty stuff and a '92 Ducati 851 which will forever be in my stable because it's unlike any other bike I've ridden.

I ride a 2001 RC51 (VTR-SP1), I love it! (it is very thirsty, I'm usually the first to make a gas stop! My wife isn't very pleased of this, but she likes it also because it's red, her favorite vehicle color)

Honda VFR400
I love that bike, around here is so underrated, it is so light and overall it's an engineering wonder.
I was so close to buying one...
