Hi Zagg, Read your last post re oil additives. Being an old mech I know they do work. Used to use it in Ford C4 trans when seals got hard and brittle to soften them up. I have 2 Tregs 2009 and 2012 both have oil leaks at rear of engine. Look at my post just before your last one, this is my 2009 one. Also my 2012 which just purchased fromVW dealer with 160K Kms has an oil leak. Took it back (under warranty) and they said just sealed near turbo intake and will be right. No, degreased bell housing again and took video. Can actually see at the housing joint between (Engine RPM sensor) was blowing bubbles. Video is 72mb long and too hard to post. Just noticed can go Advanced, so will include a picture. Bummer no provision for attachment. Send me an email and I'll send it to you.

Hi, I read your thread on rear maim/bell housing/turbo blow by. Just wondered what the outcome was? I'm in the process of purchasing 08 t2 and had an independent check. Check revealed oil near rear of engine. Initial thought were rear main, but further investigation suggests oil from turbo on rear right side of engine. VW technician tells me it's normal oil from turbo blow-by. Does this sound credible? Should I check for leaking oil seal or other issues?
