What exactly does it mean when you guys are saying vagged to my liking. What can you change,if you don't have the options?:)

A "Vag-Com" is a device (cable) plus software that allows you to connect a computer to your Touareg and do stuff like resetting error codes and changing some settings. Most people use it to make the DRLs optional and turn off the seatbelt warning chime. See Ross-Tech: Home for more details.

Here's what has been changed on my vehicle

1: Lane change signal interval changed from 3 to 5 blinks
2: DRL on/off option now in MFI (I keep mine off)
3: Six Light Salute: Allows high beams / flash to pass lights / fog lights to all be on at the same time. It's an un-holy amount of light and me likey!!! :)
4: Seat belt chime turned off
5: Door open/key in ignition chime turned off

I think I have had one other thing done, but it escapes me right now.

Ok RJ, you have to tell me how you did number 5. I was not aware you could do anything with that.

I have the first four RJ has as well as the code changed for the tranny for ROW code. I also used the VAG Com to help remove my TPMS system. It is an expensive tool but well worth the investment. It allows you to scan the car for codes and then print them out to go to the dealer with.

Ooh!! Ooh!! I know this one. But, since I'm not RJ, I guess I'm exempt from answering. ;)

OK, now that the suspense has built up...

Basically, you use the same code to kill off the Nav accept screen. This kills the door open chime, at least on T's without the nav. I think it does this on Nav-equipped T's too.

Chris did it.... don't ask me what the code was. Bring your stuff to Ouray and we'll hack on your ride. :)

If you have a face-lifted Touareg, I believe the coding is going to be very different, as most of the modules require a different kind of coding. I'm pretty sure the latest versions of Vag-Com have a "long-coding helper" that you can use to re-code the newer can-bus modules.

Wow, same adapter for my wife's passat as my tegg. After I purchase my extended warranty this week I will be buying this next. $249 is a very reasonable price for this tool. Will be nice to print out fault codes and bring them to the dealership.
