I could have been more vague, but it would have helped even less. Sorry, I was in a hurry, posting from my phone from the shop.

2005 V6
No Nav
No Park Sensors
No HID

I think I have option package 2? To be honest, I put the first 30K on it and my Wife now drives it. Just turned 100K :-(

I've went through so many headlight bulbs it isn't even funny, and with this as many miles as we put on it, it just makes sense to disable the DRL.

Thanks guys.

No, you have a T1 not T2 and thus yes, you need to do the math. Please check out DRLs in this forum for a how to. But you need a true VAG-COM cable/software as the cheap e-Bay knock offs don't give the full info. As you said, ask for anyone in your area that has one if you don't or can't pay for the kit. It's pretty straight forward once you have it.

As to the headlights, maybe you should have them checked out it's not normal to go through that many.

Looks like it was screwed up

Thanks for the help, but now I'm in time out. The tech that was looking at the car had a chinese knockoff that did NOT show the current code and googled some codes for my car - picked one and hail Mary. Now my DRLs still work, my automatic headlights are disabled and my footwell lights (int lighting) has vanished from my menu. Can someone with a REAL vag-com just wipe my computer back to factory or is this going to be major surgery? FACEPALM

And of course you did NOT write down the original number before "mechanic" decided to lobotomize your Fahrvergnugen, correct?

Yes you can reset some things with the VAG-COM. Spend some time researching the VAG-COM threads there's plenty of examples of what original numbers for various configs were and what they should be. But first get a VAG-COM or find someone in GA who has one.

I'm sorry if I don't have much empathy, but you never ever change things without having a fallback plan (guess it comes from living in AK). You never change values unless you either are absolutely sure you know what you're doing or there's a method to get to where you started. Hopefully the point has been made. As they say experience gained is proportional to equipment ruined

I don't make posts expecting empathy. I was under the impression that this site was here for people to have discussions and help one another. As with most forums, you have your collection of arrogant people who are helpful but smarmy about it.

From your first comment about me being vague to your empty apology about not being empathetic, I see some helpful info but I just don't see where you delivered it in a friendly way. I appreciate the help, I don't appreciate the sarcasm.

I did have a fallback plan (they have those in GA too). I'm executing it now. Part of the plan was getting advice from this site.

Thanks for being "that guy".
