Wow - The Touareg hasn't been #1 on any list (well any positive ones) for years

 

Yeah, no kidding...was telling my buddy that this is mind blowing to me...and not just because I bought one!

Seems VW consistently gets canned vs. the Japanes competition as a matter of course in reviews.

So Go VW..and especially Go Touareg!

 

Good for VW, good for resale

 

Agreed, I have an 07 MDX as well and I think that my 04 is a nicer vehicle then the newer Acura.

 

But look at the negatives:

* VERY expensive in the hybrid model - over 4 grand more than the Lexus one

* Lost its off road ability.

So pay near 60 grand to go to the supermarket? Or close to 100 grand for the V8 TI in Europe... I don't think so...

Didn't buy the hybrid...obviously don't care.

Personally not taking a $50k car off road. Don't care.

My TDI was well under $60k...it hauls ass down the road as well as my family of five...and carts a nice load of groceries when needed ;-)

I can understand the disappointment w/ the off road crowd here, especially since they aren't even an option. But regardless it's still a he'll of an SUV...
