Hi All, Sarah here. Just came across this forum while surfing the intra-webz. I'm a 22 year old female currently in Boston Mass who just recently bought an '04 reed green V8 Touareg, and I LOVE it!

Though I'm new to Touraegs, I've always been an avid VW enthusiast. You can find me on other forums such as VWVortex, and also at H2O International.

Welcome! I have an 04 V8 too....you really can't beat it. It is a solid car.

Since you have a V8, you may want to look into the Keyless start (that was not added to the US Treg until 2007). Spockcat and OEMPl sell the kits.

haha thanks! I'll post some pics of the 'treg soon. It's 100% OEM, so it's not much to look at at the moment.

AND YES..keyless start soon. I saw that on OEMPlus.com (i think that was the site?) so I think that might be my x-mas present to myself

Hopefully I am not the bearer of bad news... but you cannot retrofit "push button keyless start" unless your truck already has keyless entry (aka "kessy") option from the factory. If you have small black buttons on all of your exterior door handles then you have keyless entry.

ahhhhh dang. I didn't know that. Doo-doo. Oh well...I guess I'll have to find something else to look forward to. Euro front end maybe? Who knows...

Nice Ink! On a side note I wonder if anyone has had "Touareg" ever tattoo'd on them...I am sure VW has been "branded" on many people.

Some features I found out that you may have in your car from reading this board:
- "hidden" drawer under passenger seat. Not sure why VW didn't do this on all Tregs
- small buttons on uderside of steering wheel (behind Vol and cruise) - If you have the winter package, your steering wheel warms with one of these (icon in the MFI). The other button turns on the steering wheel lights.
- If you find someone w a Vagcom (and knows how to use it) you could do a lot of customization such as a) no annoying seatbelt chime, b) six-light salute, c) disable DRL, etc

(BTW - I believe all the V8s have keyless entry so you are safe for the keyless start)

It was on all the 04-05 as far as I know and disappeared in the 06 and above. It does not store a lot of stuff but was still nice to have.

06 here with hidden drawer. I havnt found a good use for it yet, but i did get a chance yesterday to keep a sammich cool in my glove box.

I forgot about the AC vent in the glove....kept plenty of beverages cool in there! As Chris Farley said in Tommy Boy "Cool!.....You could put six packs of b… soda in here…milk…yogurt…you could put candy bars in the freezer!" lol

My hidden drawer holds the city theft device which is 1 meter of 2" steel chain and a good padlock, when they see the chain they leave it alone not to many car thieves carry a bolt cutters with them.Nice art work ,

Are they still selling this kit? Their order page says "backorder". I hope you aren't going to buy the kit from them and then use my instructions to put it in. Especially since I first created, continue to make and stock these kits. And I am even less expensive than they are!

This is true.

(BTW - I believe all the V8s have keyless entry so you are safe for the keyless start)

This is not true. There are 2004 V8 models without keyless entry.
