i bought a 2008 V10 TDI a month ago from Minesota
and i already started ordering pieces to make it look as close as possible to an R50 , Mods please feel free to move the thread to the appropriate section if this is not the right place :)
i will be posting pictures as the work progresses

John , i think i will keep the suspension and brakes stock , the front brakes are massive ,
and the air suspension is just good enough for now , however I'm planning to Tune in the Engine , to a 350 Psi ? any good recommendations would be greatly appreciated .

Ragman , i was planning on painting it White ...but my guy at the body shop said keep it as is ...what do you think ?

ArgonSr My bad :)) it was nice out there , very different from the city life !

Thank You TJAY , yes i am planing to sell it by the end of the year , i just bought extended warranty ( Fidelity) through my local VW dealer , 1 year Gold 12K miles .

Here are some items which are NOT the same between a stock V10 and an R50,

1. Front Brakes and Callipers (368 mm and 7L9615123 Calliper)
2. Sway Bars
3. Auto trans and shift points

I suggest if you wish to build a "Forgery" that you get the options list from a real R50 and then go looking in ETKA. You will find that the difference in $$$$$'s what not simply cosmetic.

Hey do you happen to have the part number of the center cap or lip of the front valence ? I need one also... And 7L9807087EGRU comes out like if it was a part for the rear bumper. Thanks

No,that is not R50 grill :-(
Where are the headlights sprinklers?
Are you eyeing genuine towing lugs blanks? 7L9 853 665 GRU & 7L9 853 666 GRU
See picture below and paint those "ribs" black.
It would be of great interest to see the completed project.
Njord, with the T2 we no longer got the headlight washers in NA. They may have even disappeared sooner then that here. Anyone who knows Touaregs here will know it was not an R50 they never came here. That being said it looks great so far imo! :)

You may be right Yeti , I haven't seen it In person but the foreman at the Local VW dealership in fairlawn said it was an R50
I will find the picture he sent me and post it here .
I got the side skirts today , I will post some more pictures tomorrow .

NJord it is almost impossible to source R50 parts in North America , you'd have to find people in Europe that are willing to ship you stuff from there , I just lost 3000 euros I wired to someone who was supposed to ship Omanyt 21x10 rims (oem's) he's been MIA since the day I wired him the money ....
I've always waned an R50 , I will try to build this one as close as possible to one .

Looking SHARP! My wife has a CC in that same White Gold. The color is awesome - especially with the brushed chrome front grill (instead of the shiny one)! When are you going to mount the rims?

I'd be terrified of parking that on the street in NY...
