we wanted to cancel our order of the R5...but thn we thought .5 liters aint tht much of a difference

 

Apparently 0-60mph is 9.8 secs!! 3 secs difference is big in my book...puts you in X5 territory...

3.0 V6 TDI was shown at the Paris Auto Show. There are photos here or on VW Vortex's Touareg forum. I would buy the V6 TDI, not the R5.

 

The V6TDI is 5.000 € (= 6.050 $) more expensive, just not worth the money for me.
The only differece is the engine, no more options for that 5.000 €.

 

3 Litre V6 TDI Review

Am in a similar position my friend. Contemplated purchase of a 2-5 for several months and read absolutely every review. Was just about to take the plunge and heard on the net of the iminent arrival of the 3 litre deisel. Should have waited for the review but too impatient. Odered a couple of weeks ago for delivery in mid Jan. Black with privacy and 20 inch alloys. If anyone has seen a review, please let me know.

 

3.0- V6 TDI

About to order 3.0 V6. Also looking for reviews. Anyone think CDC + Xenons at £2600 extra would be worth having for full loaded trips UK to Spain, offroad (mountain tracks) and back (3000 miles 2/3 times a year)?
Incedental problem is I believe Xenons cannot be dip light reflected ?

 

Just ordered a new Touareg 3.0tdi Sport today after cancelling my order from last week for a 2.5tdi. Delivery is 10-12 weeks. Does anyone know of a road test for the new engined model?

You are lucky, in Germany delivery is 20-22 weeks !!!!!

 

Ordered new 3.0V6 with delivery before xmas..satnav, 19" alloys, salt grey, lthr etc..ordered through a broker and got £4k discount. UK car no catches. Coming from the same dealer I cancelled the 2.5tdi with. \/

Sounds like a very nice deal.

 

I thought so, delivery was quick too, I'm surprised. Apparently I've ordered the 2nd V6 tdi in the UK...

Thanks for the links on the comms systems. I'll probably use it to enable a DVD and phone system. My only gripe with VW is that they don't offer a factory bluetooth system.

You've got to let us know what the 3.0 V6TDI is like. I have a petrol powered V6 now and I'm very excited about this new diesel from VW.

I have no idea when this engine is coming to the U.S. - but I'll be watching!!! :joy:

you might want to wait & register it in jan i.e it will be an 05. & better for resale.

Absolutely, they have my instructions to register Jan 1st. I tried to add sports suspension but it was too late. I wasn't sure how sloppy the ride might be on the road without it.

Did you order the V6 3.0tdi too?

I'm in Italy, but any country were I can get it as faster as possible works for me.....except UK ....

I see below 22 weeks of delivery in Germany...and normally germany gets those big diesel brefore Italy...so ....I do believe I should wait till next summer almost
