I saw a couple of messages about bike racks for the Touareg.
I did not want to spend the money and buy extra Thule or Yakima Crossbars just to fit a bike rack.
Although nowhere mentioned on the Thule or VW Webpage the
Thule 511-1 Bike Rack(for Mountain bikes with disc brake) fits on silver PP Touareg Crossbars without any modifications.
The kit ordered from VW comes with screws that slide into the crossbars (you have to take the rubber pieces out of the bars).
I have the silver PP crossbars, so I am not 100% sure if it fits on the standard black bars, but I assume it does.
I ordered the rack from a VW dealer who is selling on e-bay.
