I just Update my soft from 2648 version to 2838. This morning I lost my VC view and setup at every boot.
By default I had phone screen with classic display.
This evening, everything seems normal !
Any explination ?

So to clarify, you lost your vc altogether but got it back, works fine now? This happened due to the update?

At every boot, the dashboard back to classic view with tel in center. It can't remember the last setup or change.
But now it's ok 👌

I picked up my new Touareg in July 2022, all is well and really enjoying my purchase. Great to see that people have already started listing mods.
I purchased a VAG-COM and have done a few mods including the ones listed on the first page and forum

• Enable TMC
• Turn off disclaimer
• Active speed sign recognition (works to an acceptable level)
• Allow ACC to overtake on the left
• Increase soft touch blinkers to 5
• Wireless apple carplay (using adapter)

FYI
Also I paid to have the apple car play to fill the full screen, which I can't believe VW didn't do as standard. You need a couple of parts, then they code your vehicle remotely.
Trust me I was worried at first but everything went smoothly and well worth the cost approximately $350 euros.

On the list to keep trying to get to work

• Wireless carplay to work without an adapter
• Area view to come up automatically when sensors are triggered at low speed
• Throttle lag

I live out Melbourne's east and happy to help anyone if required r want to know more.

As far as the throttle lag is concerned, I'm not sure much can be done about this without a gearbox remap. I dropped in to see someone in the UK (very highly regarded outfit called Darkside Developments) who have experience in tuning the V6 and V8 TDi and the ZF gearbox... but my car's here in Aus and they can't do it remotely! Be interesting to hear if you pick up any other info.
I heard rumour that the 'lag' could be the gearbox preserving itself... or that it could be due emissions stuff. Not sure, but I really don't want to tear my gearbox apart

Hi Vne,
Parts you need are a SD card, a USB to network adapter and laptop with internet access when your in the vehicle. They program remotely and takes about an hour.
I think it makes a huge difference.

Over the last week I installed a throttle controller and it has made a huge difference in the lag to the point I hardly notice it. The lag use to catch me out when you are rolling half way through a turn at a intersection and accelerate out.

Hi All,

Found another mod on a website that works on our CR's, this remembers your last distance setting on ACC.

I have success with the following settings in [13-Auto Dist. Reg]

Byte 9 Bit 0 Activated
Byte 16 Bit 5 Activated
Byte 23 Bit 1 Activated

Now can set in the MMI under "Driver Assistance systems"

I got mine from here: DISCOVER-TOUAREG-FW.2838
You may need to translate the page. Also I don't know what unit you have. There are other threads about how to do the upgrade if you're not familiar.

Hi, in your post above, you did the mods listed for CR. I have just purchased a new CR 210 TDI and am very new to this VCDS system but have successfully managed to do the change for “Lane Keeping” which is an adaption change but when I tried to do the “Parking Brake Activation” adaption I got an error box requiring a security code I assume for change to Brakes.
Where do I get this security code from?
Also being new to VCDS, can you point me to where I can find out about the changes involving Long Codes, something with pictures would be good.

I am not sue if this is answered elsewhere but could not find it. If ACC is disabled or lane assist via the indicator knob. Does this turn off emergency braking, which is drives me nuts when it slams on.
Followup would be to ask for a vcds code to turn it off, or else is the suggestion in this thread to set acc to the last value the best option?

No. Emergency braking stays active. I know!

I haven't seen the steps for enabling TMC specifically for the Touareg, can you share a link? I'm loathe to try the steps for MQB without someone confirming they work.

5f adaptations change the number to 32787, else 1024.
Works well.
