hi. just a quick question about steering wheel heating, my 04 V8 has one, i love it, but some times i get the massage on the front display STEERING WHEEL HEATING OFF! and small symbol shows up and when i push the button to switch on wheel heating it goes away :) does this mean that my car takes care of me and suggests to turn it on when outside temp is low??? :)

Sounds like you might also have the Thai girls massage facility too.

Have you found them in the convenience settings?

If not you may need VAGcom to turn them on!\\:D/

Well at least you have steering wheel heating!

Most folk have the button but no heat [and no Thai girls either]!!

When your steering wheel heat is on you will see a green light in your screen instead of the white one. The button is on the right back side of the wheel as noted earlier.

The one on the left side turns off the lights for the buttons on the steering wheel. Nice when you want as little light as possible in the dash area when driving at night.

It means the temperature is low enough for the wheel heat to be activated and on, but you have turned it off. So press the button again and it should go on and go green. I am guessing that if you did not have wheel heat the white 'off' symbol would not show up at all.

The buttons should be between the spokes of the steering wheel on both the left and right side of the wheel.

Ok. I just found the buttons. I was looking on the back of the wheel. The left one does the lights, but its 42* out so don't know if the right one works.
If you have the winter package, you should have this. Do you have four zone heating and rear seat heaters??? If yes, you should have it. If no, then you don't.

Can be retro fit if you can find the parts... I just did it.

If i remember correctly, 4 zone heat was separate from the cold weather package which had the heated wheel and rear seats.
