Spark Plugs??? What are those

Anyway, the documentation I have says on an 04 V8 standard labor for that job is 1.8 Hrs. The FGR 7 KQU 0 plugs are about $9/Ea.

I'm not sure how difficult they are to get to on that motor, but if they are reasonably accessible it's a cake job to do yourself.

 

Seems high to me too.

x2 on doing it yourself. It's very easy if you have a spark plug socket, a torque wrench and about an hour to spare. Engine covers pop right off and coil packs pull out easily.

 

DIY
Get plugs online, hose clamp pliers, anti seize, appropriate coil pack puller and plug socket.
Recently did our 2008 V8 (was my first time changing plugs with coil packs) and it was VERY easy...

Hi, i know its few month old thread but i don't want to start a new one only for one question, can you help me please, im going to change spark plugs on my 05 V8 and need to know how many NM of torque to apply on plugs? I have a torque wrench and want to do it properly thank you

 

I have it written down as 18 ft-lbs in my maintenance notes, which is based on prior research.

Converts to 24 or 25 Nm, depending which way you round. Probably 25 Nm.

 

I live just north of Boston. Which dealership gave you that price? That seems exceptionally high for plugs - maybe that dealership is exceptionally high!

I'd doubt that.

There was a worldwide recall on Touareg coil packs a year or three back. Lots of us got them replaced FOC.
