Does anyone have any pics of a spare wheel carrier that fits on the tow hitch? Does anyone have any opinion on whether it is easier to carry it on the roof?

I don't know about you, but I would find it difficult to lift a 75# tire-wheel up on to the roof.

Yes, it folds down. I can open the glass without an issue and the receiver is still available to tow a trailer or plug a bike carrier into. Three things to think about: (1) I had to add an anti-rattle device because there was a lot of slop. (2) I'm replacing the glass for sure if I get rear ended. (3) I'm looking at options to disable the remote hatch opening, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has inadvertently opened the back hatch by accidentally sitting on the key.

Thanks Dingo. Yes, I agree it does look a bit off. I wanted to have access to the glass without letting the spare down. For now it works. Any other solutions are welcome.
I had a mate make me up a folding hitch-mounted carrier ... very similar to that done later by Alex Gee.
