Hello,

Treg w/ less than 500 miles was scraped by damn garage door on the side (arm type garage arm) now in addition to the paint, the gray, plastic part of fender is scraped and I wonder if wet sanding can fix the problem. I tried finding online but there is no mention on the plastic part. I got a quote and if I need to replace, it is 700 bucks because they need to remove rear bumper and there is a part that needs to be broken to be taken out. so I am wondering if anyone has an experience removing scratches on the plastic, non-painted part of fender...

Did you ever find out if this would work or not? I have a few scratches by one of my fog lights on the plastic portion, and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to fix.

VW plastic is soft and textured. Sanding would make it look equally aesthetics unpleasing.

Don't you have smart repair guys in the US?

They come to your home or office and fix dings and plastics on site.

I don't think PDR works well on plastic stuff or on scratches.

My issue is that I have scratches on my interior plastic trim on the rear hatch on the inside, and wasn't sure if anyone had any suggestions for that either, as well as some of the exterior stuff.

It would help to see a picture, but a lot of times on these front or rear bumpers they typically require a repaint and/or replacement.


Sometimes some of the dealers or good body or detail shops know good touch up guys, but post a pic of the damage.
