Any recommendations on replacement tires for 275/45R/20 all season? Currently have Perilli factory 39K. Thanks.

Michelin Latitude HP Tours not being manufactured

Have not been able to find Michelin Latitude HP tours from any source in US or Canada. Contacted Michelin and they say they are awaiting enough back orders to initiate production. Local Michelin Rep says that they will not be manufactured again. Defender LTX or Premier LTX are the replacement. Note that my local Frisby dealer has lists for the release of these tires and size 275/45R20 is not on the list of sizes!
What is the best tire with decent life other than the Michelins?

Just got a set of Pirelli P-Zero SUMMER tires (I run winters, so no need for all seasons).
Quiet and competent (I had them for only 1000 km). They are Porsche spec, so certainly good for the Treg.

They are P-Zero NO 265/50/19 110Y. My indie VW guy recommended them as the "new" P-Zeros.
On the Pirelli web page they are the "regular" P-Zero (not "rosso", "corsa" or "nero"):

I beat them over a few on- and offramps and they stick like glue in the warm weather. Quiet on cruising, too (my Goodyear Eagle LS were getting quite loud as they wore towards their end of life). I prefer summers over all seasons, simply because of their harder compound; they wear better and since I alternate with winter tires, I don't want to buy a "compromise" tire.

I've got a set of Nitto NT421Q's on right now. I was a little apprehensive about them, but they are a great tire. Certainly not for rough off-roading, but a fine on road tire. I'm planning on a separate set for winter as a) I don't really want to run 20's in the winter and b) nothing beats a good set of snows.

I just purchased Continental Extreme Contact DWS for my 2014 TDI R-Line. The handle great.

BTW Continental is not making the newest DWS06 in 20" yet, maybe August.

Based on all the positive reviews we mounted the DWS on my wife's SUV. Needless to say she wanted them removed and I agreed. The sidewalls were just too soft, they rode nice and were fairly quiet. But we couldn't get past the slow response of the sidewall (maybe the new 2015 version is better). The wallowing feel was disconcerting. She now is running the Bridgestone HP Sport and likes them much better. I think they are a tad louder & ride firmer than the DWS, but the steering response is better. Luckily for us there are a ton of tire options do we can all find a tire we like.

I just threw on a set of Hankook Ventus ST RH06 All season tires.

Don't let TireRack fool you. These are AS tires according to Hankook. TR lists them as Summer only due to, what they feel. is a summer tread pattern, but there's a Snow Flake on the sidewall and Hankook themselves mark it as an All Season.

So far, all the great reviews I've read about them are living up to the tire. I have nothing but praise for them so far. Awesome in the dry and incredible in the wet. Can't comment on the snow aspect yet, but, so far, so good.

I am running the Yokohama Prada Spec x - 275/45R20/110v on a 2012 V6 Executive.
After 15k, the rears are bald. That's right, little to no tread left. This is after aligning, rotating and not beating up ( this treg is my wife's daily driver).
I live in New England where we have snow, and they were good performers when they had tread. Reality is, 20 inch wheels and tires on the treg are not the best option.
I would not purchase these again because you get what you pay for.....

I just got the Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus and they are a huge improvement over the earlier Touareg 3.0 tires. I had the Goodyears and they were just ok. If you look at the tire ratings you will see the new gen Pirellis have an unreal 740 tread wear rating as opposed to 400 something for the Michelins and Goodyears. For my money it was between the Contis and the Pirellis, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Be sure to look for plus as the first gen Scorpions are still being sold.

I have the Scorpion Verde, not the Plus, in the v rated Porsche spec. I really like these tires. They are quiet, handle well in both wet and dry and don't have a hash ride. I see the Verde Plus is V rated also, at least what Tire Rack shows. Some didn't rate the OEM Pirelli Verde to well. I suspect they were the H rated. The Verde Plus shows better ratings in the snow but I still would swap to winter tires if you drive in the frozen north several months. My opinion is for every day driving go with a good quality v rated tire such as the Scorpion.

I have the H rated Scorpion Verdes on my week old 014 Exec. They are a little nervouse on the freeway but handle and steer crisply. They balance out nicely and are confident at speed even though kind of nervouse at 70 and up they just steer and turn so easy.

I had the Michelin's on my 012 Exec they where damper but did not steer as precise/crisp. I guess overall I liked the Cross Contacts the best but they are $ and did not wear real well at all.

The rears on the 20" wheels do wear more rapidly than the fronts. That was quite evident on the Goodyear's I just swapped out. Therefore, with these new Pirellis I am going to rotate front to back. Yes, the Treg eats tires, particularly on the 20's, but I would think 25-30K should be doable.

Getting new skins this week...thisclose to getting Continue DWS 06 (have previous gen DWS now, 2nd set). it's between DWS 06 and Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus.

How do you like your Pirellis or DWS?

I've put a few thousand on the Pirellis, and like them a lot. I have the V-rated 20s, and no complaints. Very quiet on the highway, handle well, and also do well in snow (for an all season.)

I think the factory size is 265/50/19. If you are running 265/55/19 the 275/45 will be quite a bit smaller and probably not make you happy.

In 265/50/19 I would look at the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus for long tread life and improved MPG. They wont be quite as good as the Conti DWS in snow, but if you deal with a lot of snow, I would recomend winter tires over all seasons anyway.
