I took both my wifes passat and my egg in for quotes on remote starters. The egg he said he could try and the passat ended up at almost 400. I decided to cancel on the passat and called my local VW dealer where I get them serviced. My warranties on both the passat and egg would be completely void if I put remote starters in.

I have a 2006 Vw touareg and Im a certified installer - Me and my friend installed a viper 5901 system with remote start into my touareg with no issues. It went very smoothly and gives me no problems. We are starting to do them for other people on the east coast now. Price starts at $1,500 including all parts and labor. PM me for more details and questions

Hey guys, had to register to post this since I figured it was useful info.

I'm a BestBuy MECP Advanced certified install tech and stumbled upon this thread while doing some research into the subject.

I had a 2009 Touareg for a Viper4204 remote start today. It took literally like all day, and getting to one pesky wire required removal of the wipers/cowl panel (which ate up a good chunk of the time)... but in the end everything worked great; no warning lights, no electrical gremlins.

Of course the install requires the owner to loose a key that gets buried under the dash (wrap-a-key method as installers say), but there's no other huge costs associated with it. Cost to the client is around $550+tax for the viper 2 way remote starter I listed.

If anyone ever has questions or anything feel free to contact me. I'm in the great state of Wisconsin, but I'm networked with tons of people across the nation, I can refer to someone who can do a quality job. Gimme a hollar at 715-343-7300.

Hope that wasn't too business-y... it wasn't supposed to be, but I think it came off that way. Anywho, cheers, glad I could have the pleasure to work on this darn VW/Porsche monster... and I thought the Audi Q7 was a bugger of an install ;)

Hello

I want to know if some one retrofit for keykess . I want absolurely to retrofit . But I don't find answers for my question.

If some one could help me

I have touareg t3 2012

Thank you

Thank
I think you have posted to the wrong thread. This is about a remote starter and not keyless entry or KESSY for that matter. I can't tell what you want to retrofit....never heard of "keykess".

Also, your english is very difficult to follow...

My advice to you...
Do some more work on the english translation and start a new thread before posting...

If you look at the typos, he's hit the key next to the intended letter!

So keyKess is keyless and absoluRely is absolutely.

But he still needs to explain what keyless function he wants!

Hello,
It is very good that you did it on your Treg .

I am dreaming to have it on my 2008 VW Touareg TDI 3.0!!! Can you tell me please which modules did you use for the remote start feature implementation on your treg? Did you use expresskit's modules - DB-ALL+DLPK+KIVW+RFLUB+TBXKEY+556UW?

Thank you in advance!:)

I used the Directed DBALL for integration and the 556U for immobilizer bypass. You can technically skip the 556U and wrap the key with magnet wire and use a relay triggered by the RS status wire for the immobilizer.

Excitement is coming soon, again. I have a 2012 TDI Push to Start Touareg scheduled for a remote start install on Friday the 13th :) Looks like a completely different style of install than the 2009 normal key version, but still very do able. Will be using the Directed DBALL2 for integration and wrapping a key for bypass as well.

On the topic of using the factory keyfob for RS, it's very possible! Most RS have an input that can allow a tech to hook it up so that lock x 3 will RS it. The only issue is that on VWs the factory keyfob is inoperative while it's running. I can't speak toward the PTS VWs, though. The only one I've ever done was a 2012 Q7, and I forget if that was operation while running.

I will report back!

Just did a 2014 TDI PTS for a viper 5706 with DBALL2 bypass module! (my 2012 never made it in last year, alas)

Compared to the last gen this one is cake (still not the funnest to disassemble, though, but no wiper removal is a bonus).

Takeover works great, with being able to hop in and go, and the prox key also disarm the Viper when you just walk up and open the door like your normally would. Life is good!

With winter coming... I am wondering if anyone has purchased an aftermarket remote start that works on the Touareg? I was curious if we had any new options are available? Thanks!

One of the worst things you can do to a diesel is to start it and then let it idle.

That is the point of highest wear.

The car needs to be driven to get the engine heat going.

This is a standard option for all the new diesel trucks. They don't have a problem with it. The remote start on my 2011 Duramax had a 9 minute timer and then it would shut off. I live at the bottom of a steep grade in Colorado that we need to climb to reach the highway. I don't want to drive this engine at -5f hard up that steep grade with a cold engine. I am sure a few minutes of idelling would be fine.
