recently had body work done on my Touareg as a result of accident
Now when I turn on radio I get no display, the radio works but the display is blank.. Help :confused2:

Had the same problem. Unplug and re-install the fuse for the radio and that will re-set the RDS. If you have the nav there should be an RDS option which needs to be set to on.

I'm experiancing the Blank radio display issue also, I have the basic radio with single CD player and everything work or at least I get sound and can change station but the radio light comes on but no display at all. Any idea about what should I look for to fix it or should I just go to the dealer. Will this problem by under warranty?

I'd say it's probably time for a new radio. If you're still under the 4yr-50,000mile warranty it should be covered.

Does re-installing the fuse work only for NAVI? I have the exact same problem with the standard CD radio - the dealer checked it out and said there is nothing to do and that I needed a new radio...

There are fuse boxes on both sides of the dash when you open the door and remove the end panels. Use the manual to figure out what fuse you need to replace/remove.

I have a 2006 Touareg with the MFD GPS/Radio and have had the "no display" once a few days ago. But after driving the Touareg for a few miles, stopping for a few mins, then starting it up again it worked fine and has worked ever since. Not sure but was thinking it might be a battery voltage issue on startup that triggered it and after driving a few miles and charging the battery, the next time I had more voltage and the radio was happy. Just a theory.

Thank you. However I did have a battery issue awhile back and the display has been out since that time. Until I purchase the new fuses I will see if driving some more will help, I will let you know.

I have the same problem - had body work done, when the dealer returned the car the radio screen is blank - they want to sell me a new radio (for $$$) - I am not clear on the comments above about the fuses. Should they be removed and put back with the system on?, etc?

I have the fuse layout for both sides, just not sure what the steps should be

I had all of my systems shut down. I then replaced the fuses.

After that it worked great.

I checked the radio fuses for continuity - they seem to be ok

I see a mention of NAV fuses - I guess I need to check them as well

The dealer is a clown and always wants $$$$ for even things they screw up

They wanted $3200 to repair a windshield wiper arm nut that was stuck (wanted to break the nut off and replace the entire arm assembly) my local shop fixed it for $30
