I have been back and forth at the dealership with intermittent random warning indicators. I have had the "Brake Assist Workshop", "Sysytem Workshop" and a warning for the auto light leveling function of the headlights come on. There have been some other mysterious electrical malfunctions as well.
The stepper motor was recently replaced (yesterday) and I haven't gotten the truck back yet but in the three days before this service trip I had the radar detector unplugged from the cigarette lighter and things seemed to be fine. Had to jump it 3 times this past weekend as well. I attributed this draw on the battery to the radar detector because it doesn't shut itself off and neither does the car turn off the plug. I hadn't driven it much the few days before either.
The service tech reported that there were many "low power" errors on the internal sensor readings for just about everything in the car. They had no other ideas for a cause for these random malfunctions but felt strongly they had "fixed" the car (I fixed it, I unplugged it!). The tech reported that the car has many sensors that will not turn off if they sense something is on in the car and it could drain the battery. They said other after market products could also result in these types of conflicts.
Anyway, I'll report back if this appears to be the golden solution with these types of errors. Thought this might be something others would want to consider since these errors seem to be so random and the service people never have any other ideas.
