Okay, yes.. I could have looked around but thought I would try to contain it to my own post.

I am new to the Touareg world, so - still learning here.

1. Battery location... Took a quick look today under the hood and didn't see it unless it's encased (sealed) for water. I guess it's under the back seat like my old Mercedes?

*Question* when you do your stereo setups.. where have you run the wires etc? Seems to me it's an ideal location - since I will be putting my amps, subs there..

Any tips or tricks for running wiring for amps etc? Want to make sure it's all hidden!

2. Speakers... I have a 2005, Touareg V6.. regular ole stereo.. not sure if that makes a difference. However the left driver door speaker is blown. Figure I need to replace them all.. Does anyone have a diagram of what speaker sizes are in ALL locations? Also any idea's for speakers? I need something that can handle some blasting.. Was thinking CDT Audio or something comparable.. (quart, etc.)

Battery under driver's seat.

Do a search on speakers, you'll find help there. Don't know why you'd need to replace them all if only one is blown.

You should get a VAG-COM and a manual (either Bentley or ElsaWin).

LOL Under the drivers seat? Hell of a place to put a battery! :) I looked up two diff guides on how to remove the battery both were outdated and links didn't work.. anything updated?

Second.. the factory speakers are garbage. I mean, if you want to drive around town - and use your stereo at moderate to low levels - they aren't bad at all. I on the other hand am a Generation X kid... I like my music, I love my music loud! Not just bass, rather the total package. I want SQ (sound quality) as we call it here in the US at Sound Comps... The door speakers aren't going to handle 75/100 watts RMS a piece... Plus it looks like there are several tweeters etc...

Well I would start searching the Forum for your answers. There's a ton of stuff with folks who've installed new HU, amps etc. Can't remember how involved it was removing the door panels. I know to change the window motors etc. is a real pain, but shouldn't be too bad to get to the speakers. Get a manual and start hunting the forum there's a wealth of info here.

Use the search function, these topics have been discussed ad nauseum. There are a fumber of DIY available for advice on how to get to the battery...under the seat is just fine, you only really need to access it once every 4 years anyways (ie Replacement). there are terminals under the hood if you need a boost or to temporarily get 12V power.

No need for attitude, as I had searched and could not find a lot in regards to the speakers. AND even with the ones I had found for the speakers (sizes) that no one had the exact sizes. Some people said 8 inch speakers, other said 6.5 for the rear... Others said 6.5 for the front some said 8 for the front.. I was looking for someone with the RIGHT answer and more specific. Whether or not it's been duplicated should not be an issue if someone doesn't mind linking me to the right stuff I NEED. This, instead of someone else getting an attitude over it. [-X

TTouareg, use Google, use this forum but use a little ingenuity. The forum has boundless info on just about every conceivable madness creative folks have come up with. Take the time and search. The fact that the battery is under the driver's seat should have been easy to find as is the rest. No attitude, just do a little homework on your own. Also you must excuse Nick, he's a little under the weather today 8)

LOL, I didn't read attitude into it...maybe my writing style isn't that great. Usually when a topic is frequently discussed most people that know the answers will simply ignore the post (or they'll say use the search function). Apologies if you took it as attitude, but I really just meant you'll find the answer using the search button!

I would invest in either Bentley or ElsaWin. Getting these manuals and of course a VAG-COM are indispensable tools for any work beyond filling the windshield washer reservoir.

FSU eh? Was there for the ETA-10 inauguration in 89 (?) and gave a series of talks at SCRI in 1991.

makes it all come back now... I remember volunteering to teach Nets&Comms 101

im sure you volunteered out of the goodness of your heart, and not the women.... ;)

And FSU is/was great... I am a photgrapher for them now and couldn't ask for anything more (rather than some w's vs. the l's) -

And manuals don't help me much.. I DO NOT do my own work unless it's on the Audi which is rather simple (Changing plugs, coils, etc..) This thing here is a diff beast. Would rather find osmeone that HAS DONE IT and pay them to do it for me.. and ill watch.. I will mess it up.. no doubt

Well you'll find that we can't really help you with much if you do have a problem unless we can read a scan from the VAG-COM. Simply saying "my engine runs rough and I have a check engine light on" doesn't really help. Maybe if you search the member's forum there may be someone who lives near you and has a VAG-COM he'd be willing to share, else....

And of course I would volunteer from the goodness of my heart. I was at the University of Hawaii at the time so it wasn't like an absence of... but... FSU was nice. The weather you can keep though

See, if your posts were more like this I would be less APT to respond like I did... it's not that hard...

And where does it say I need a vag? I don't need one, I can take it to a mechanic for that stuff. MODS on the other hand are different. Speakers are different. And you "claim" there are all these great little posts one where to find it - rather there are inconclusive posts. I have found No set diagrams, rather just ones for sound I, II.. nothing other than what I posted which was some people think it's and 8 inch some a 6.5.. but no one with a definitive post with ALL of the info in it that I could locate.

Second, the links I found (if you would have read) in regards to removing the battery - were dead links pointed to at Vortex. HENCE why I posted here.

See, other forums (people aren't ass's about it..) The ones I am on simply repost the link. It's not very difficult. The time it takes someone to make an ass hole remark - they could have posted the link and it's done. SOME people are willing to help w/out showing their ass... some aren't...

You don't know, you PRESUMED I didn't look. Maybe I didn't type in the right keyword to bring up the post. WE AREN'T the all mighty gets it right, omni-potent Siberian.. Just no need to act that way in my eyes..

*PS* This post is about Battery location-removal, Speakers for "all door locations" etc.. If you can't contribute.. then create another post to get attention. Thanks!

Example 1: If you enable your rear fogs for example and bought the euro-switch, how are you going to get them to work without a VAG-COM?

Where did I bring up rear fogs in this post?

Right but as you said in your previous posts, one has nothing to do with the other. If you can't contribute to the topic at hand. Meaning HELPING other than making smart remarks about searching then there is no need to reply. Period...

Stick to the topic at hand... I have a vag-dash can, also a smelcom.. neither of which are relevant to wiring, stereo speaker sizes etc.. be done with it..

LOL Nick!

It's crazy bud!

I have a 2003 V10 touareg and the battery is in the trunk under the spare wheel. I too want to upgrade my audio and haven't seen any wiring diagrams or any suggestions

You should have two batteries with that vehical. There is one under the left seat, since I don't know what country you are from I refrained from saying drivers seat.
