Posted a thread here on wednesday when I got my 2011 VW Touareg V8 TDI:
http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f49/got-my-2011-vw-touareg-v8-tdi-today-44570.html

Thought I'd post pictures in a new thread.

Btw, did a quick 0-100 sprint and it was 6,8. Better launch and low 6 should be possible.

Included the previous picture already uploaded taken at dawn. No wonder it's called Night blue.

I hope you enjoy. I'll shoot some video of 0-100 or 0-160 sprints this weekend.

I hope so! It was expensive to impress you though ;)

Btw, it's difficult finding wheels for this car. 130/5, 71.6 mm center. Also gonna get spacers. But not sure what size to get. The car would like nice with about 2-3cm (1 inch) per wheel. Or would that be too much?

That is one Sweet SUV! Thanks for the shots! I love the new interior (though it looks like the re-used the rear center armrest). I am happy they kept the sun shades! And the front cluster looks nice! Is that carbon fiber by the shifter?

Do the rear seats fold down in the same way as the old treg or have then updated it (where you don't have to remove the head reast each time)?

My 04V8 still looks great inside and runs fantastic (though it needs an airflow sensor and brakes). But if I was to upgrade..i think this v8 Beast is the way to go (or an 08 V10 :)

It was stated before by another member here who has inside contact at VWoA that it was more about cost to get that motor emissions certified here in the states then anything else.

thanks for sharing Swedie. enjoy the ride!!

It's a Beauty!!! Here in the States, taxing authorities and oil companys are playing games with diesel. The price is all over the place: anywhere from above premium grade gasoline to between regular and extra. NEVER less than regular. In my younger years one could always count on diesel being priced (significantly) below regular. The result is consumers turning away from diesel power and auto manufacturers reluctance to commit to diesel models.

Swedie,
How do you rate the new colour midnight blue over the old shadow blue, lighter/darker..your throughts?

Are they the 19" Everest wheels? What rubber did Volkswagen give you with them?

Very nice overall setup you have there, best of fun enjoying the new ride. :D

Yep, Everest wheels. They're nice for oem. Rubber is different for every content / market (country), but I believe what I got was Goodyear tires. Gonna check when I get home.

The midnight blue is more blue always. This color is more towards purple sometimes but turns blue at dawn / night time.

Oh man, that's a nice looking engine:cool: Thanks for pulling the plastics off, the intake manifold runners are totally redisigned for the better from the looks of it. The V10 runners are just basic logs:mad: I'm no diesel mechanic but the injection looks like a 'common rail' set up like the cummins motor uses. I wonder if it has a lift pump that does away with the finicky rotory style (and the primary reason for the worlds most expensive oil being mandatory)on the v10's? We're the power and torque spec's posted earlier in this thread? I'm gonna re read it;) Also, I wonder if the maximum fjording depth is higher than 510mm like on the 10's, airboxes look higher. Peek in the manual if yo uget a chance:)

That is a tight ride!

The one thing I noticed is that the steering wheel is on the wrong side.... It's LH drive.... (wrong for you - correct for much of the world). :)

I'd love to see what the MFD looks like in action - it looks even bigger than what's in my T2...

Thanks for sharing!

Congrats. Love the color and wheels. Don't care for the velour trim on seats (looks cool, though) but we do not get that feature in the States. A+ Enjoy your ride.
