Replaced the front and rear rotors/pads and sensors on my 04' Toureg V6. Everything went pretty smoothly. But now the pad light on the dash is still on. Made sure the connections were tight where the sensors snap together and where they actualiy snap into the pads. Is the light supposed to go out automatically or is there some sort of reset? Frustrating!!

Just changed my brakes rotors/pads/sensors. Had to do L side F/R, move the car, then R side F/R. Light was still on after doing the L side, light went off after completing the R side. Looking at the wear on the sensors it appeared the R rear brake sensor was the one that set off the warning light. After finishing checked OBD w/VCDS, no fault code shown on brakes. Checking continuity with a meter as suggested is a good idea.

Did you find the problem? I'm having the same issue.

I need help. I replaced the brakes pads and sensors last week. The check brake pad light went out but the symbol (0) was still on. While I was rechecking the brake sensors I broke one. The check brake pad light came back on. What is the symbol (0) on the dash light for? If it is a brake sensor issue shouldn't the check brake pad light be on too?

Can you disable the light that says that my tire pressure is low?? I was told that when we bought the vehicle that the batteries were going low and are also a little spendy. I would be fine without that warning light at all. Any thoughts???
Thread with all that info in the DIY part of the forum.

Well, I think we will have this problem solved. My mechanic ordered the sensors and is charging for the parts, but not the labor to put in the new sensors. In the mean time, we got our tires rotated and the good folks at Big-O say the rear pads need to be changed. So I'm a little worried that maybe that is the real reason for the warning light.

More to come when we find time to get it to the shop.

Hi Cheddardip. I had a similar problem where I was getting the Brake pad Sensor going off every now and then (but not constant) and also a BRAKE FAULT - STOP VEHICLE hard fault alert. My dealership traced it to a brake harness (7L0-971-279-G). Initially they said it may be 4-5 hours, but when I went for them to install it was done in one hour as they said it just needed to be clipped in and was not as major as they initially thought. Mine was covered under warrenty so it did not cost me a thing (but I did elect to buy extended warrenty as mine will run out in a few months).

So bottom line, I did not see the install, but it did not take them long. I was at the place at 8am and out at 9am. Hope this helps!
