Ok, so I'm driving last night, and my friend was playing with my air suspension knobs when I wasn't looking, and I kept yelling at him telling him he was gonna break something, when my check engine light comes on.

Yes I know it had nothing to do with it coming on, but I thought it was funny I could yell at him for causing it.

Anyway, appears to be my MAF sensor. I just recently got K&N's put in a week ago, and now this light comes on. Coincidence, or no? I've ready many things on here about how they do, and don't cause problems. I can't seem to find a solid answer. The K&N website has some sort of exhaustive research they did on whether they cause problems, and said they do not.... but I still think it's awful coincidental that my C/E light would come on a week after I had them installed

Try cleaning the MAF's and see what happens. Could be the filters had excess oil on them from the factory and it could have coated the MAF's. I am pretty anal about how I clean and reoil mine. I have had K&N's on many different vehicals and never had a MAF failure. Follow the directions and you will have no issues what so ever.

They are what the air boxes are attached to and I am not postive on what the spray is you need to clean them. It is a sensor that gets dirty and causes the code. Sorry I am not of much more help then that, but someone will come in and give you more info. I personally have never cleaned one, but know it is something that can be done.

Ok, so they seemed a bit complex to remove. looked like a big job to get them actually out to clean..so I was able to detach the intake pipe from the airbox, and could spray some CRC maf cleaner down in there, let it dry, fired it up, reset code, and viola...took her for a nice long drive and no errors thrown up...
