Appreciate the link but the one you provided is for the 2.0 and for the emissions warranty. I'm looking for the warranty details for post-buyback CPO warranties. I could ask the dealer but I don't want to open a can of worms, especially after they've made accomodations on the loaner.

Got another update from VWOA indicating they still don't have an ETA on parts. I've realized that all the Regional Case Manager is doing is calling my local dealership and is asking if my parts have come in. I called my dealership and spoke to the service manager today to discuss the situation. I've tried to be as nice as possible as I know it isn't his fault that the parts haven't arrived. I'm now being told the parts are to be manufactured in Mexico but because of COVID Mexico is pretty much locked down. First I was told the European supply chain was the issue and now I've been told that the Mexican supply chain is the issue.

If this wasn't the summer I would happily rack up as many miles on the loaner as I possibly could while patiently waiting for the parts to arrive. But unfortunately, this is the summer and I've got a Ski Nautique sitting in my garage that I can't tow to the lake to take my kids out. As a (soon to be) divorced dad I only get to see my kids every other weekend, so not having a vehicle that can tow a 4k lb boat is starting to impact activities that my kids look forward to (especially since they can't go to camp this summer).

I've boiled down my options to the following:
  1. Suck it up and keep driving the loaner till they get the parts - a new HPFP on a 85k mile vehicle is totally worth it
  2. Ask the dealer to take my T3 on a trade for a similar T3 (executive trim) that is sitting on their lot for about the same price I paid for my T3. Only downside is that it is silver and has black interior vs. mine with dark grey exterior and brown saddle leather interior)
  3. Push VW to pay for a rental vehicle capable of towing a ski boat. The service manager said that VW is paying him $35 per day for my loaner. Looking online it looks like an F150 goes for about $75 per day
  4. Take legal action and force the buyback. Only issue is that I'll most likely be restricted to buying a vehicle in a similar price range ($15k) due to my pending divorce and my ex-wife making everything in my life difficult. I also expect that taking legal action will be a long process to get resolved given the status of the courts.
What would you do? I'm leaning to giving VW a couple more weeks because I like my T3 but have asked the service manager to discuss with the dealership owners the possibility of trading my T3 for the other one.

Of course feel free to tell me to stop whining and be happy with the loaner :)

Ask them for an Atlas loaner. Those have a 5000 lb tow rating. My dealer gave me one last time my Touareg was in for service, it was a loaded V6 4motion.

Here is a copy of the parts that are covered by the Diesel Gate Warranty. Should the CPO not go far enough with engine parts, this should cover it. Good Luck!

So my dealership just informed that the last part has finally come in. 7 months after HPFP failure work is finally getting done.

I am glad to finally be getting it back soon, but this is totally unacceptable. Has anyone talked to a lawyer yet? Seriously anything covered under factory warranty like this should have sufficient parts in stock.

Just got my T3 back last Friday right before I left on vacation with my kids. The dealership service team was great and were able to get the vehicle back and running, and also got my new headliner installed (which had been on backorder since I bought the vehicle at the beginning of October 2019). The vehicle is going back into the shop this Thursday due to the fuel gauge not working (dealership said that if it didn't register within 100 miles to bring it back). I emailed my customer care rep letting him know I took possession of the vehicle but I would not sign off on closing the case until the vehicle is properly fixed and we are in agreement on compensation. I haven't figured out what I'm asking for relative to compensation but I expect to be reasonable.

Wow congratulations! How is it driving?

knock on wood the car has been great but I've noticed my fuel mpg has been down from an average of 24 to 22 but that could totally be from running the AC.

I requested a 4 month extension of my CPO warranty and $1k in vw credit for my inconvenience. I just received a response saying they wouldn't extend my warranty and that they would give me a $300 vw credit. I'm currently debating just taking the $300 and moving on. Thoughts?

Ehhh that's a tough one. Realistically they probably cannot move the CPO. I'd maybe ask that all work and parts are warranted slightly longer?
