You have to go into the setup menu to view gps speed. Press and keep holding the setup button. You will first enter the radio service menu and then system menu.
If this doesnt work on your nav then you need a new firmware with setup menu enabled.
Search here and you shall find the firmware

I am interested to get speed showing on Sat Nav as well. I have a 2012 Model, and although I tried to follow above I couldn't seem to get it to work.

Any help appreciated.

No need for a firmware update to get this, but you may need VCDS to enable it. Where is it in setup? I have never played with it enough to see that.

Hi Singh,

I did not get a suitable selection under setup for Navigator to enable speed display. I have got a MY12 T'reg. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I found the speed via GPS in the setup. Only issue I have is it is useless for me since we don't use kph here in the US. I didn't say NA since Canada does use that. I have seen no real way to change the language in the head unit to get it to read mph. At least it works for you guys. :)

No setup menu on my NA 2008 either.
