Thanks for the warm welcome. I am new to volkswagon. Last car was a Ford Edge, earlier cars were BMW X3 and LR3s. Finally my Treg pic.attached.

I have had some issues lately

Steering was slightly misaligned and to go straight one had to hold the steering slightly to the right. The dealership fixed it at no cost.

Hundreds of colored dots on the windscreen that can be seen from inside the car in bright sun shine. They have agreed to look into this as well.

Any one had these issues on a new Treg?

My understanding is that these are remnants of the glass tempering process.

Were you wearing polarized sunglasses? This makes the effect particularly strong.

I'm not certain there's anything to be done about it. Is it that intrusive?

I see the pattern on the rear hatch window only when I wear polarized sunglasses. Rear window only. It's normal.

Thanks for the responses. No, I do not wear polarized sun glasses. I got it checked by a few others who don't wear glasses and they are able to see these spots too.

The pattern you see is normal to the tempering process. It's quench nozzle marks from the cooling process, which can have round marks that you are probably seeing , or straight lines on others. It's magnified with polarization from your glasses...the better polarized glasses you buy, the better you will see marks.

 

It all depends on the light conditions and angle your looking through. Polarization highlights it.

Saw some members looking for soft copies of user manuals, which seems to be available through this app.

I downloaded the app. It has useful docs and videos but am not able to register my VIN. Could it be that the app is not available for all regions?

Actually it is "Knowing your Volkswagen" It is a VWoA (USA) effort, so it will not relate to all vehicles.

The piano black B pillar on the car has picked up swirls and light scratches - presumably from cleaning with cloth which had sand particles. Any way of bringing it back to original condition? Polish or the like?

Hi,

Recently got the car polished and the dots are gone now. The dealership pointed out that the issue was not just with the wind screen, but all over the car - diagnosed as paint overspray. Any way this is solved now.

How often do you guys use the sport drive on the car? Apart from gear ratio is there any other change while in sports drive?

Glad you got your spots fixed.

I've been using sport mode lately just out of curiosity. Can be addictive.

So far as I can tell, the only difference is that the shift points are later.
