I have owned my 2008 Touareg 2 VR6 for about a month now and I am absolutely thrilled. Looking to make some small upgrades to the audio. I picked up a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH as a replacement head unit to the factory radio w/SAT (No NAV). I was very lucky to come across one on Amazon for $200. I also picked up a reverse camera, a Boyo VTL375 for $50; Metra 95-9009 installation kit for $10; a Metra Axxess ASWC Steering Wheel Control Interface for $40; a cable for Iphone 4S (CD-IU201S for $40); and a Microbypass Parking Brake Override Bypass for $20. I also picked up a Pioneer TS-SWX251 subwoofer with enclosure for $100. I've spent about $450 so far for the hardware. I haven't done the swap yet and I have a few questions.
1. If anyone has this head unit installed, I would love to see some pics; and perhaps some feedback.
2. How do I find out if my T2 has 10 or 11 speakers?
3. What are the specs on the factory amplifier and the speakers? I'm talking size and performance. I do not intend to change out the speakers and the AMP right away, and I'm hoping that the new HU and a new sub would do the trick for now.
