Well, since birth I was effected by a disease that prevents me from owning a stock vehicle... so everyone I get I modify. For now it is my 2010 Touareg TDI which I am converting into my own custom "R" edition for the USA.

Below are the current stats on it...

Now some pics of the progress...

Still to come... engine tuning, speaker and amplifier upgrade, Caractere rear wing spoiler, window tint, paint the front grill, and carbon fiber inlays for the dash and doors. So far I am pretty happy with it and most people who have seen it in person like it. I also added a "R" emblem to my Touareg hatch lettering which seems to throw a lot of people off thinking it is a custom factory option. LOL

Looking forward to the final pieces so I can call this project done and just enjoy it! David

Now to my criticisms, the calipers should be blue like the seats, red is way over used and it would be much better if it matched the interior. I had those same OZ's, 22's worked better than the 20's I think. Otherwise all the rest is great, really cool!

I like it! very unique interior..I particularly like that because its not a "get it off ebay" item...I agree the red calipers are overplayed, I'd go blue or silver. For the interior I'd go machine finish trim - I think it would go great with the black/blue interior.

Hey, just noticed from this pic I did not list my sport pedals or Phaeton dead pedal! LOL

Thanks guys... now to your comments.

Volkswagendude, I thought about it but not really a fan of those... might get the R-line ones from German e-bay though.

UberV10, yes the blue can be a bit dramatic but it was the material I had left over from one of my old show cars. It is actually the Audi Nogaro blue from the S line cars, it is not available to the public so it is rather unique. I could repaint the calipers Blue, that might be a good tie in with the interior. I picked red only because my Porsche has the same and I did it to match. I stayed with the 20" rims since this is my daily driver and not all the roads I go on are nice and smooth.

Nick, I did check out the machine finish interior trim but it did not come across as nice enough. I know I am taking the "played out" route but I was thinking of carbon fiber instead. We shall see, the good news is I can always change things if I like. Part of the fun of projects like this. :)

Oh, and here was the old show car I had which got me into the Nogaro Blue Alcantara look... I custom installed Audi S4 front seats into my Passat and was going to do the rest of the interior in the same material. I do admit though it looked better matched to my Passat black interior rather than the "Anthracite" of the Touareg.

... and yes, this car was very "Fast and Furious"... LOL But, to compete at the level I did in the shows we actually had to do neon lighting and stickers as there was point categories for them. :(

Actually I think CF interior would look good...for some reason (maybe its just the pics?) the wood and blue/black doesn't go. Anything more "mechanical" ie: machine finish/alumunum/CF would really be sweet!

I agree the blue calipers would tie in the blue interior nicely, and also pay homage to the R50 which comes stock w/ blue calipers!

My opinion, I hate the blue interior. No offense, but I cannot imagine how anyone would like that in their "everyday" car.

However, I do like the idea of blue calipers. Red calipers are nice but overplayed. I think if you are going to keep the blue interior, (which it looks like you are), you have a good opportunity to use a color more unique for your calipers.

Good luck on the rest of the project. Everything else looks great. :)

I agree Nick, once I had the Alcantara installed the wood trim really stuck out in a bad way... The more I think about the blue calipers the more I like it. I think that will be added to my to-do list. :)

LOtouareg, the blue alcantara is the Audi fabric used in their S line of cars... seemed to work fine for them since everyone I knew loved the Audi S4 and RS4. ;) Although, the Anthracite interior is not the best match as full black would have been better... but nothing I can do about that now. :(

i like the blue.... paint the calipers blue, get rid of the walnut trim, add painted fender flares and hatch spoiler.
nice whip!

I thought about doing the fender flares, but they looked too "bolt on" to me... Figured to stay with the narrow body look which is why I bought the Hofele side skirts rather than use the R50 ones.

I don't do bling at all, BUT.... I really like the blue and the car as a whole.

My only criticism is that the centre wheel caps with OZ do not align with the OZ on the wheel itself. Sloppy! Please fix!!

Nooby, your killing me! ;) I blame Wheel Works who recently did the work on the wheels and removed the center caps last. I will be sure to correct this when I take the wheels off for the caliper painting in blue. :)

 Glad you're going for the blue!

On my OZ I had the "OZ" on the spoke painted in an accent color. On my touareg the wheels were Gunmetal and I painted that recessed emblem orange; those wheels are now on my cayenne and are black so I painted OZ red... As you can guess I'd suggest blue for you, but yellow would look awesome if you did blue calipers

Did you give any thought to retrofitting Cayenne sport seats?

Lee

Love it!

I too mod all my cars, except the Touareg. Every once in a while I get the urge, but once you step over that edge there is no turning back. The mods I list in my sig is a bit of tongue in check. My other car is heavily modified, but it that way...so I saved my self some $
