I lease a 2008 V6 Touareg. It has around 37k miles, leather, sat, aftermkt Parrot, etc. I love the truck and would probably get another one when the lease ends but...the buyback on the current lease is about $22,000; I am thinking of buying it off lease, keeping it for a year or so and then get the new 2011 version or seeing if I could get a decent deal on a lease of a new 2010 TDI Touareg if I can find one? What do you think? Thanks!

You may be able to extend your lease for another year... which would be a cheaper option possibly. Give your lender a call.

Well, $22k for an 08 V6 Treg with 37k on it is a STEAL. 08's are still around 30k used. Depends on how bad you want a TDI and what you are willing to pay. I think TDI leases are pretty tough to come by - especially for '10's since they are no longer in production.

If this is true...buy it out at the end of the lease. Drive it until the 2011's are in stock...then sell yours or trade it in for a new one! :)

I would buy it, like others are saying i have a 2004 V8 with 58k miles and paid 17,900 for it so I would strongly recommend keeping it till the new one comes out :)

Buy it!

That's a great, if not fantastic price for a 2008 with so few miles. I bought one with V6, air susp, hitch, nav and 34,000 miles on the clock in May for $28,900 and don't regret if for an instant.:D

Never had an SUV before and did a lot of research before buying this one. The treg rode better than both the X3 and X5, out-perfomed the V6-X5, was nimbler handling than the Lexus 470, has a superb interior, and the dealer was vastly better than any of the three Infiniti excuses-for- dealerships I visited.

Interesting car credentials:
'57 Chevy Nomad w/powerpack
'57 Chrysler Windsor w/Hemi
'58 MGA w/rebuild and bored-out engine (by me)
'69 Cougar w/351 Cleveland
'68 MGB Abarth rally car (in Germany)
'70 BMW 2800 (in Germany)
'72 Jaguar XKE Roadster (6 cyl, short-body, in Germany)
'73 Pontiac TransAm
'76 Pontiac TransAm (emissions strangled)
'77 Mazda Cosmo w/Wankel (a true sleeper)
xxx period of boring 'family' cars...
'88 Nissan Maxima 5-Spd
'97 Chrysler LHS (another underappreciated car)
'98 BMW 740i
'04 Chrysler Crossfire
'07 Cadillac CTS-Sport
'08 VW Touareg V6

If you are debt-free (except for your home) and can pay cash to buy the treg go for it. if not, let her go and get something you can afford (ie. pay cash)
I agree 100%. Paying cash is the best way to go.

The only second best option is to see if a dealer will help you out by taking the car on trade. Then selling back to you as a CPO with a very low interest rate.
